I have a Belkin wireless G Router and have just purchased a Linksys Wireless-N USB Adaptor WUSB300N. Currently my new desktop fails to recognise the Belkin Router with or without the adaptor.
Does the WUSB300N only work with a Linksys router? Do I need a Wireless-G USB Adaptor? How do I install the WUSB300N as it doesn't seem to do anything when you plug it in - no lights, nothing?
Can you tell i'm a novice!!

Connection and signal strength depends upon the router. Just go through the settings on the wireless router, try changing the wireless channels. And also change the wireless mode on the router to 802.11g.This should be the compatible mode for your wireless adapter. to do this first connect the router with the help of an ethernet cable .Please follow the below steps:
1)Using your Internet browser, you can access the Router’s Web-Based
Advanced User Interface. In your browser, type “192.168.2.1” (you do
not need to type in anything else such as “http://” or “www”). Then
press the “Enter” key.
2)
You will see the Router’s home page in your browser window. The
home page is visible to any user who wants to see it. To make any
changes to the Router’s settings, you have to log in. Clicking the
“Login” button or clicking on any one of the links on the home page
will take you to the login screen. The Router ships with no password
entered. In the login screen, leave the password blank and click the
“Submit” button to log in.
3)
Clicking on the header of the “Wireless” tab will take you to the
“Wireless” header page. From this page, the Router’s wireless radio
can be enabled or disabled (the default setting is enabled). Under the
“Wireless” tab, there are links that allow you to make changes to the
wireless network settings.
4)
Your Router can operate in three different wireless modes:
“g and b”, “g only”, and “b only”.
5)
Change the wireless channel to 9 or 11
Click on save changes once you have done this
This should work,if it doesnt work let us know the exact problem in detail.
