Washer has a pressure switch and hose that runs from control panel to side of tub. check to see if this hose is loose at control panel.

Washer will fill but it does not stop

Your water level switch is stuck.
Probably due to soap scum in the air dome line.
Remove the control console screws to access the water level switch.
Remove the small plastic hose from the water level switch and blow through it to dislodge the blockage.
If it is difficult to blow through, remove the front panel and take the hose off at the air dome on the side of the tub.
Push a small wire into the air dome to clear the clog.
Replace the hose on both ends.
Set the timer for SPIN and run a spin cycle.
Then retry the water level fill.
If it does not fill correctly, replace the water level switch.

Maytag top loadind washer. Won't stop filling up.

Make sure your drain hose to the drain pipe is higher than the water in the tub if not it will keep running and going out the drain.
Also try taking the hose off the level switch and blow in it to be sure it's not stoped up. If is it won't let the level sw cut off. air should go through it. Good luck
When you unpluged the power and it ddn't keep runing the water valve should be ok.

Water want stop running on Maytag top load washer wit power on .

This problem is caused by a faulty water level switch. It is a diaphragm like device with a small clear plastic tube attached between the switch and the bottom of the washer's outer tub. As the water level increases, pressure increases on the air in the tube. When the pressure reaches a certain level, it activates the switch to turn off the water and signals the timer to start the agitate cycle. Look for any obstruction or defect in the tube. The switch can be checked for continuity with a multimeter. If it has no continuity the switch is defective. Hope this helped and best wishes.

Water runs through entire cycle until spin mode

Check the plastice hose going to the water level switch. It is pinched, or has a hole in it.
Repair or replace the plastic hose.

My washer will not stop filling with water and overflows

Turn the washer on and let the water run, while the water is running unplug the power cord if the water stops the inlet valve is ok but if still running the valve is bad and need to be replace if the pump is good you need to test the water level switch, if faulty need to replace.
good luck

Admiral Top Load Washer Model LNC6762B71 overflowed

Remove the control console cover. Find the water level switch.
It has a small tube attached to it.
Remove the tube and blow air through it. It is probably stopped up. Reattach it to the water level switch.
Look over the length of the tube and may sure it is not pinched.
Set the washer to spin and run spin for about 1 minute.
Then run water on a lower level and see if it shuts off.
If not replace the water level switch.

does the water overflow from the waser. also try and fill the washer up with water and when you feel it should be filled to capacity shut the water off to the washer. and turn off the power. After you have done that turn the water back on and turn the power back on to the washer if the water stops running it could be your water valve and is easily replaced. if the water continues to run it could be the pressure switch (water level switch) or it could be a hole in the pressure switch hose.
