Question about Dell OptiPlex GX280 PC Desktop
I was going to upgrade the ram in my dell computer but now when i turn it on it just beeps a long low note and doesnt do anything, i am almost certain I have put the ram in properly i have tried taking it out putting it in all that business but nothing works please help!
It is either incompatible or dead. try it in another machine. if the stick of ram runs, it is likely an incompatibility. refer to your documentation included with the motherboard/laptop (you didn't clarify) to see what it supports. there is actually a huge difference between pc100 and 133 (which are now obsolete) and ddr2 and ddr3, although they respectively share similar pin count and layout.
