SOURCE: need instructions for setting Globe

Use the on/off button to cycle through in the following order:

F = off

0 = on

1-9 = Number of hours unit stays on after detecting 15 seconds of low light

R = Random. After detecting low lux for 15 seconds, unit will select random number of hours to stay on. Will repeat randomization cycle in 24 hrs

d = On from dusk til dawn

1.-9. = (number followed by period) On now and will shut off after the indicated number of hours elapses.

Neat little timer. Have fun with it.

I have a Noam Indoor Mechanical HEAVY DUTY Timer that I lost manual for and can't figure out how to set the time On the back it shows 052-8823-0 Type: 16ULD/3A-1HR 15A, 125V-.60Hz It has a 3...

Timer plugs into outlet, and the clock dial spins around and words 'time-now' appear on dial.
Sounds like 24-Hour analog timer:

Time-now means 'the current time right now" for example 12:45
The dial can be manually rotated, and you set current time by rotating dial and lining up 12:45 with time-now triangle.

Open following link for instructions that illustrate how to set on-off segments, and get the timer to work.

Open following link to see several similar timers, and each operates same way:

1st Question: Can Woods timer model 16ULD/3A be used for Christmas light timing? The timer is in the garage not exposed to water at all.

I am unable to identify the 16uld timer.

Amazon has a page of their timers. I am familiar with all of these.
http://picclick.com/Amazon/Home-Improvement/Electrical/Timers/

Woods timers and manuals show on following link
http://waterheatertimer.org/Woods-timers-and-manuals.html

If you can visually identify the 16ULD timer, then add a comment and I can answer your question.

That being said, any timer can operate Christmas lights.
If your timer has photoelectric eye, then it has to be placed outside where it can respond to dusk and dawn changes in light.

But there are some Woods timers that have photoelectric eye, and that feature can be overridden.
Again it depends on the timer, and clear identification would help numerous folk who are asking fixya about your same timer.

Woods model 16ULD/3A timer-lost instuctions

I have not heard of Woods 16ULD.
Woods timers sometimes have more than 1 model number for same timer, depending on who packaged and sold timer.

You posted under Woods plug-in timer with segments around edge of dial.
If this is not your timer, add a comment.

Also see lost of Woods timers where you might recognized photo of your model:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Woods-timers-and-manuals.html

To program Woods timers with segments:
Rotate dial until current time lines up with arrowhead located on inner dial
Segments around outer edge of dial lift up.
Use fingernail, or small screwdriver to lift up segments when you want timer to turn OFF.
Leave segments down for times you want timer ON.
Slide switch located on top of timer is manual override.
Move switch to ON position when you want lights ON full time.
Move switch other direction for timer program to operate.
Timer dial rotates with passing time.
Program repeats each 24 hours.
Table lamp must be turned ON for timer to function.
If timer doesn't work, check receptacle for power, check that lamp is turned ON, and check that bulb is good.
