We just moved in - the house is about 9 years old. I have a Eureka Mega Boss central vac - looks like model # is CV20220. 12.4 amps, 120 volts. Can't figure out what type of bags I need. Can you...

Well, for this unit you will need any of the following bags,

Eureka genuine Part# 90610
Eureka replacement (Central vac bag)
another genuine bag style called CV-1, and/or CV-2
Kenmore Central vac bags

Most of the bags there are available at your local vacuum shop, and sometimes even Sears. The Kenmore central vac bag is, can and will fit your Eureka Mega Boss. Prices range on these bags anywhere from $12-$20 for packages of 3. Generally you will replace a bag once every 3-4 months.

Good luck,
Mark

Hi ! I have a Kenmore central vacuum (model # 34326), 3 inlet valves on different floors. the inlet valves on the second and third floors are already connected. I need to connect the inlet valve...

By your description it seems that You have telephone wire used. You only need two low voltage wires to complete the circuit to turn on the power to the central vacuum unit. The low voltage wires must be arranged so that when you insert the hose into any valve it closes the circuit. You will wire it as if the black and red are just one wire and the green and yellow are the other, they are actually doing exactly the same as if you only had two wires.

Central Vac will not turn on.

These problems are nearly exclusively caused by a bad circut board and replacing it is the fix. Bad boards can cause many different effects so its nearly impossible to be sure. The 9v signal wire is not enough to short out an entire unit so it is unlikely the hose. If it is a direct connect system and you are pulling power from the 110 somehow that would cause main unit problems but that is unlikely at best. Sounds like a failed board to me.

Best of Luck

Kenmore Manual

Sears/Kenmore central vacuum systems are no longer being made ergo no manuals available, especially on line on line. If contacting Sears parts directly, maybe one may be purchased ?

Kenmore central Vac - where to connect low voltage wires?

Mosy central vacs have 2 spades close together that stick out on the side, usually where the circuit breaker and auto/manual switch is. This is where you plug the low voltage wires into.
