Printer won't recognize the new ink cartridges.

I replaced the ink cartridge now the printer says it doesn't recognize it and I can't do anything now, they are sending me a different cartridge to try. Is there anything else I can try to do in the interm?

Hi,

Unfortunately there's not a lot left while you wait for the delivery... If the printer is refusing to recognise your cartridge it's most likely that the chip is incompatible but here's a couple of possible solutions while you wait.

  1. Remove the problem cartridge, clean the chip on this cartridge and check for any overly excessive plastic securing the chip in place. Sometimes the plastic can push the contacts away or redirect them so careful shaving of any excess material may help.

  2. Check the slot the cartridge goes into for any damage to the contact wires. These are very thin and VERY delicate wires in the front of the printhead carriage. If they are damaged or soiled you need to consider a warranty replacement or accept you could break things if you try to fix them yourself. Hopefully this isn't the problem
Beyond that there's really not a lot else left to try..

Best of luck.

Does not accept new ink cartridges, indicates they are empty

This might ba an issue with the cartridge holder in which its not recognizing inks or inks are defective. Call Epson for cartridge replacement is reinstalling of inks doesn't work.

Canon printer won't recognize new ink cartridge

did you take the shipping tape off of the cartridge? It's usually the one covering the contacts located on the underside of the Cartridge that is inserted into the receiver of the cartridge. Other wise, you may have a bad cartridge, if so, bring it back to where you purchased it and get another one. Chris Chrisab123@live.com

Hello. My Epson Stylus CX 4200 now flashes the letter E and all the lights flash, including "error." How do I get it working again?

here's what you can do:-disconnect the printer from the computer-turn off the printer-inspect for anything foreign inside like jammed paper-turn the power back on-remove the ink cartridge-check the chip connnector at ink tank and at head carriage. If its dirty clean it with soft moist cloth. -check the status monitor. which ink tank not recognized. -press ink light (1-4 times) depends on number ink tank not recognized, press 1 time again, carriage will move co replacement position, unplug and plug again all ink tank, press ink light 1 more.
if that doesn't work, replace ink cartridge ONLY if you have a spare. DO NOT BUY new ink as the printer is bound for repair.

I have a canon IP 4200 printer. The ink cartridge light on the Magenta ink cartridge doesn't work so it won't accept/recognize that a new ink cartridge has been installed. Is this something that...

It sounds as though you have a break in the carriage ribbon cable. A new carriage would hopefully cure it but its just possible the logic board has failed and is not sending any signal to the magenta ink tank. Its certainly repairable but you would need to know the costs and the labour charge to see if its worthwhile.

If your printer did not good in times of reseting the cartridges do check the cartridge holder if the is some dirt inside or the terminal of your cartridge had wet by the ink when you refill the ink of your cartridges.

I just replaced black ink cartridge and snapped all cartridges back in place and recharged the printer now it wont recognize the black ink cartridge even though it was just replaced

Try wiping the copper contacts on the new cartridge with a dustfree cloth dampened with some alcohol. Dry thoroughly before reinstalling.
