OUTLOOK is essentially a ho.e application that you can route all your email accounts to. If you have one not working you can delete the account in the settings and then set it back up. If you go into your Yahoo there is a place in the settings that tells you what to put for you POP settings. Then close and reopen. If that doesnt work you can try deleting the outlook folder in the App Data folder under you profile and starting from scratch.

Email messages occasionaly disappear after being cancelled , cannot be found anywhere?

If you canceled or deleted you can retrieve them in most web email clients.

GMail:
If you've deleted a message permanently, by clicking Delete Forever in your Spam or Trash, it isn't possible to recover the message.
If you've moved a message to Trash, by clicking Delete, but it's been fewer than 30 days and you haven't permanently deleted it, follow these steps to put it back in your inbox:
  1. Sign in to Gmail.
  2. Click Trash along the left side of any Gmail page. (If you don't see Trash along the left side of your Gmail page, go to the Labels tab in Settings, then click the show link next to the Trash label.)
  3. Locate the message you'd like to move to your inbox, and check the box next to the sender's name.
  4. Click Move to Inbox.
Yahoo:
Of course, you can also undelete a message quickly as long as it is still in your Yahoo! Mail's Trash folder.
Undelete Mail in Yahoo! Mail To undelete a message in Yahoo! Mail or Yahoo! Mail Classic:
  • Go to the Trash folder.
  • Open the desired message.
  • Click Move in the Yahoo! Mail toolbar.
  • Select Inbox or any other folder to recover the message.
    • In Yahoo! Mail, you can also drag and drop the email to any folder, of course.
Also you can serach on Yahoo itself by look at the left upper corner you can see a search bar if you
remember some info. from the sender.

An email disappeared. Can it be restored?

All deleted emails in yahoo are being sent to Trash folder.

Deleted messages are moved to the Trash folder temporarily, where they are subject to deletion at anytime.

Please dont forget to rate this solution. Thank you.

Can't reply, forward, or write new emails

A lot of us believe Yahoo implemented some changes that affected the ability to read our mail. I've had this issue since May 29. Since then, I've developed a Work-Around to read my mail or mail in other File Folders. I've seen other comments that use this method as well. Sounds like we all came upon this Work-Around simultaneously.

Since I've been offering solutions to read one's mail, my personal Profile indicates that over 80 others have this inability to read their mail. So we are not alone.

General consensus is that Yahoo has not developed a fix yet and Yahoo is offering up other solutions which, so far , have failed. Not seen anyone admit their solutions actually work.

I've read where one customer disabled his Norton anti-virus and his mail worked normally. When he re-enabled the Norton anti-virus, the mail screwed up again. His indications were that Norton was working on the issue. Sounds like Yahoo instituted some upgrades and now Norton may have to change something in their package to make the two systems compatable. Don't know for sure at this point.

Try This:

1) Double click on your mail Inbox or other File Folder
2) Right click and a Pop-up window will show up
3) Choose OPEN
4) Read your mail, select an email for viewing
5) In order to DELETE, MOVE the email to another File Folder, REPLY, FORWARD - Go ahead do what you normally do. You'll notice that your email didn't disappear.
6) Go to your Inbox or another File Folder as if you wish to read another email. If you were DELETING your email from your Inbox, select your Inbox again, DBL clicking and Right Clicking. When the File RE-opens, you'll notice the email you DELETED is now gone.

Pain in the rear, but it at least allows you to read and dispose of the mail.

Yahoo doesn't seem to have an ETA on when the Fix will be in place. They have had suggestions , but no -one has admitted any of them have worked.

I can't access any email or messenger account

I encountered this problem last night. I had gotten a virus that changed my lan settings, and even after I removed it the lan settings stayed.

Right click Tools from the Menu bar in Internet Explorer. (If you dont have a menu bar, right click the gray part below the url bar and select Menu Bar from the drop down list)

Select Internet Options from the bottom of the list.

Select the Connections Tab, 5th over at the top.

Click the LAN Settings box torwards the bottom of the page.

Make sure that "Automatically Detect Settings" Is checked, and NOT Proxy Server settings.

Apply changes, close Internet Explorer and reopen.

This should solve your problem.

Cannot get email

This is a very common problem. Upgrading you iphone firmware if it's not current may solve this problem. Or try changing your address for the account from example@yahoo.com" to your yahoo id without the "@yahoo.com"

Otherwise the built-in yahoo option for iphone can be buggy:
  1. Delete the Yahoo account on your iphone
  2. Create anew account via Other option
  3. Fill in the usual user id and password fields
  4. Under IMAP tab set Host Name under Incoming Mail Server to imap.apple.mail.yahoo.com
  5. Under Outgoing Mail Server, in Host Name field set it to cwmx.com
If you have a very large yahoo inbox, you may have to do the following:

1. Go to your yahoo account in a regular browser on your computer. Makesure you're using the new version of Yahoo mail (the one that looks andfeels like outlook).

2. Create a new folder. I called mine "archive - inbox".

3. Select ALL emails in your inbox so that your inbox folder will becompletely empty once you move them (there's a box you can check whichwill select everything). I had over 5,000 emails in my inbox, so thiswould have taken ages using the Classic version of Yahoo mail.

4. Move all emails to your newly created archive folder. Go back intothe archive folder and select any unread/new emails and move them backto your inbox.

5. Go into Yahoo on your iphone and refresh the mail. This will clearout the old emails and download the most recent emails from your inbox.
