Question about Dell A940 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Open Question

Error message 004-321 saying reseat drum & restart printer; I did & no change

I got the above message on the printer window, & followed the instructions, ( I removed the drum, inspected & cleaned its exterior then replaced it); checked all the cartridges and doors; everything is in place but still have the same message on the printer menu window. What else can I do to resume using the printer?

SOURCE: Dell 3100CN Error Message

I am a publisher here in Seattle printing full color books with this machine and I have just gotten the same message- Does anyone have a solution- I have Googled and checked everything... Now, this happened to me a few months ago and I pulled out the drum and sprayed it with air, replaced it and it worked fine for about two months- now I get the error again- does this help in the problem solving?

Hit the options button (just under the digital display on the printer) (and between the two arrows) 10 times. The hit the +arrow once to change. Go through the change motions again and you should get a new ink read.

I HAD the same problem...a couple of posts up/down, someone suggest to re-align the film roll on the Drum. This worked for me. There are two wheels on the outer-side of the film reel (the film reel is one of two reels on the main top drum). Take out the drum, not the green reel, but the other one. Check both ends and you can se/feel two little silver metal wheels (again, at the ends). Roll the film around with your fingers until it is aligned evenly with the wheels. The metal on the wheels should not be showing at all, they should both be covered by the film reel. Replace the drum and cross your fingers. This worked for me...I'm sure a NEW drum would fix the problem, as well.

Turn off the printer, and then hold down the "Menu" button on the front of the printer, and then turn on the power to the printer.
You should see the "Init Password" message on the front panel, and just choose No to not init the password.

Xerox Phaser 7400 U28 error message


The Service manual says:


The Drum Phase Sensor for the named Imaging Unit indicates that the drum is out of position.


Initial Actions:

Reseat the indicated Imaging Unit.
Cycle the printer's power.

after these steps it gets a lot more detailed and you would need to be an experienced tech to understand everything and follow the steps within a timely manner, if reseating the cyan imaging unit doesn't fix the problem, then you will have to call for service.

Get error message "004-321 Restart printer" Have tried everything.


this is a 'reseat drum' message. If you do that and make sure all is clean then restart it should be fine.

Falal error 173 on oki c5650 after changing fuser unit


Cause:
This error indicates that the Image Drum Up/Down Process is not working properly.

The errors are as follows:

140 - Yellow Drum Up/Down error
141 - Magenta Drum Up/Down error
142 - Cyan Drum Up/Down error


Resolution:

1. Reseat the Image Drums. Ensure they are in seating properly into the drum carriage.

2. Reseat the Toner Cartridges. Ensure they are seating properly into the Image Drums.

3. Reseat the Contact Sensor Spring assembly and inspect it for damage or mis-alignment. If the springs appear bent or dis-lodged reseat them.

Okie C5400 giving 162: Fatal Error


Magenta toner sensor error. Reseat drum unit. check toner cart. Take out the key that prevents you from putting drums in wrong slot and swap the whole drum and toner assy with another color, if it follows the magenta unit then that is the problem somehow.

Have an OKI Printing Solution C5800 color printer received the following error message: Check Toner cartridge 543K Toner Sensor error - have already changed the Drum and the toner. The error will not go...

1. Turn machine on while pushing and holding the TWO up/down menu buttons at same time.
2. Menu window will show "OKI USER"
3. Scroll to " Engine Dialog Mode" is indicated. Push Enter button.
4. "Diagnostic Mode xx.xx.xx S-Mode is indicated.
5. Scroll to "NV-Ram initial" is indicated. Push ENTER.
6. Window shows "NV-Ram- Initial Table 1".
7. Push ONLINE and ENTER Buttons simultaneously and HOLD for 10 seconds after you see "Executing Reset" appear in menu window.
8. Restart printer.

All toner, drum, fuser and transfer figures return to 100%.

Worked for me when I had the same error. Hope it helps.

Dell 3100 error 010-397 restart and reseat fuser roll


We had the same problem. I loosened the levers that hold the fuser in place, and the one on the left side (as you face the printer) came out. When I put it back in, it didn't click into place all the way and the error message came up. I pushed down slightly on the fuser, then pushed the lever toward the back of the unit about as hard as I dared until it clicked back into place. That locked the fuser into place properly and resolved the problem.

010 397 Error Message on Dell 5100cn


The following steps are the troubleshooting steps that should be followed for error code 010 397.
First, the definition of the failure is <IOT Fuser Failure>, and means a Fuser Error is detected.

1) With power off, reseat the fuser by physically removing it from the printer, then reinstalling it and locking it in place. Turn the power back on. ( if the error is still present, proceed to step 2 ).

2) If reseating the fuser did not resolve the problem, Replace the fuser with a known good fuser.
( if problem is not resolved, proceed to step 3)

3) Replace the LVPS ( low voltage power supply ). ( if problem not resolved, proceed to step 4 ).

4) Replace the PWBA MCU ( printed wiring board assembly - machine control unit ).

END of troubleshooting.........

In most cases, the fuser itself is the problem. If you tried to reseat or replace the fuser while power was still on, the LVPS could have been damaged just as if there were an electrical storm.

Reset drum - brother mfc-8860dn


Open front cover

Remove drum unit and toner cartridge assembly

Put drum unit and toner cartridge assembly back in machine, but do no close front cover.

Press Clear/Back
You will get a message "Replace Drum?"
Select Yes to confirm

Xerox phaser 6250 NVRAM Failure


Cycle power, try cleaning the CTD (ADC) sensor and toner full sensor. This is what Xerox has to say about the NVRAM failure: On the front panel, press the key labeled i to view information about the error. Record the error code number. Turn off the printer. Reseat the fuser. Reseat the imaging unit. Reseat the toner cartridges. Turn on the printer. If the error continues to be displayed contact service.
