The power supply fuse should be next the the ac input plug on the power supply. It should be a long cylinder type fuse, probably a T6.3AH/250V. You will want to replace those caps ASAP

Technika stuck in standby

The standby power supply runs 7/24 and may be part of main power board.

Follow power cord inside to power supply board and as first step examine all the filter caps on it---silver tops should be perfectly flat and not puffed up or leaking brown material top or bottom.

This is the place to begin---see photo of typical cap.

Model FLM-3701 will not power up.

There is a fuse on the power supply board. It is labelled F1. It is a small cylinder near the AC connector. The F1 fuse is 5A 250V. How ever, capacitors are more likely to fail on this television.
The Polaroid FLM3701 has a problem with capacitors failing on the power supply board. If enough caps go bad, you will get no power. Not even a power light.
This P/S board is easy to access on this TV. There is a cover on the back of the TV. It is attached with 8 screws. Remove the cover. This will expose 2 boards. The power supply board is on the right. To remove the P/S board, first unplug the cables. There is an AC power power cord on the right and 4 data cables on the left. The board is held in with 4 screws. Remove the screws and the board will lift out. Any capacitor that is swollen is bad. The top of the capacitor will be curved upward. On the left side of the P/S board, there are 9 big caps labelled E8 thur E17. I would suggest replacing all of them. 6 are 680uF 35V and 3 are 680uF 25V. In the upper central region there are 3 small caps. These go bad, but they do not swell. These are E6, E7 and E22. They are all 22uF 50V. Replace all three. The attached photo shows before and after the caps have been replaced. The original caps were orange. The replacement caps are black.

There are three (3) capacitors that go bad on the power supply board. MAKE magazine's Instructable site has a good guide on replacing them. I have a june 07 and july 07 date monitors. they were different inside!! identical outside, however. The bulged,'bad' components were 1000uf 10v cap's, I put in radio shack 272-1032 1000uf 35wvdc. My monitors? BOTH were bought for $35 on craigslist, $10.35 in parts. ???BusinFLA -at- hotma*l dot com.....worked for me!

Insignia LCDTB32 will not stay on

tresalisa,
This is a common problem with this particular model unit and the answer is to replace several bad caps on the power supply module, upwards of 16 caps may have and could fail. There are the main three 680uf/35v caps E919,E920,E921 that usually bow or vent near the regulation circuit, top left of the supply board, replace these even when they appear okay. The remainder can be found simply using an esr meter.
If you have no meter and still want to make the repair yourself remove the board and send it in for repair. That way you'll keep the repair with $200.00 dollars and you've pretty much done it yourself..

Pwer supply board repairs

this model uses 2 different boards--both are not available from Akai (SAMSUNG) look carefully at all the filter caps on the power board--many will be bulged up at the top---last one I did had 20 bad caps---space allowing--replace with higher voltage rated caps---8 were 2200 mfd @25 volt, 4 were 3300 @ 35 volt, 7, 1000 mfd @ 10 volt, and one 1000 @ 6.3 volt---- Sets with 10 digit serial number use one board and sets with 8 digit serial number use another board---I have seen "rebuilt boards" on several sites on the internet for about $115 + S&H---which is about what the original board replacement sold for when they were available.
