SOURCE: Only heats on timed drying

Our Kenmore dryer had the same sort of problem (different catchy names.

Problem was that in "smart" modes (by what ever name, the timer motor runs in series with a "dampness" sensor (thermostat, actually, I think) and A RESISTOR.

Resistor burns out--this is the symptom set.

SOURCE: intellidry cycles inoperative, regular timed cycle

Howdy: It seems the "smart switch settings" has died. It is in the switching circuit. It all comes in one unit. Take it out and have it tested at an appliance store. Good luck - Doug

SOURCE: I have a Maytag Atlantis

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. No Heat issue in dryer is usually caused due to three things - thermal Fuse, Wiring Harness and/or Heating Element. Start with checking the Thermal Fuse which is mounted inside the back cover panel to the exhaust duct and is mounted in plastic housing. If that’s fine then the Heating Element should be checked. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

No heat on my Intellidry?

make sure the control is not set to "air fluff" - check your BREAKERS! if one trips, motor will still run, but no heat, flip them BOTH off and on several times, then try it. if that's not it, check the element and the thermal fuse
