Question about Kenmore 882 sq. in. Cooking Area Gas Grill 14117327

1 Answer

Reduced heat when second burner is turned on

I have a 5 burner kenmore grill. When I turn on one of the burners all is fine. When I try to turn on a second or third burner, the flames on the first are reduced to almost nothing. With the two (or three) burners on, the temp will not go beyond 200 degrees.

My grill won't heat up. If I reset the regulator and turn a burner on I can light one burner and flame seems fine. When I turn a second burner on the flame goes down.

The pressure regulator has gone bad. It isn't expensive and can be bought at Walmart or other home improvement stores that sell outdoor grille parts.

On a kenmore 5 burner grill when lighting the fourth burner all of the grill shuts down, regardless of which is the fourth burner?

Sounds like the pressure regulator is malfunctioning. Try disconnecting your gas line. Open/Close all burners then reconnecting gas. If propane, don't turn bottle off before burners. Always turn burners off first, then bottle. then bottle on before burners. This primes the regulator to the proper pressure.

Grill won't heat up above 200 DEGREES with a nearly full tank

Try replacing the regulator and hose, not very expensive and fairly easy to do. If that doesn't help, let me know.

My grill is on, the flame is burning, but the temperature never gets up to 300 degrees with all 4 burners going

Try this, turn on just one burner, once it is lit, turn on a second burner. If the flame on the first burner gets lower when you turn on the second burner, you probably have a bad regulator. Replacing the regulator is cheap and easy and may solve your problem.

Grill no longer producing good heat

read manual...possibly triggered propane safety bypass. Close tank, Turn OFF all burners, disconnect tank. Open one burner for 1 minute and turn off again. Reconnect tank. NOW OPEN tank slowly, all the way. Turn on first burner and ignite with starter or light through port hole manually. Hopefully works better.

Glas flow will almost shut down once i turn on the second burner

hi my name is mark, let me see if i understand your problem. you light the 1st burner and get a good flame. you light the 2nd burner with the 1st burner lite and it starves both burners of gas. if this grill is a lp grill and you have propane in the tank. the regulater is the problem.

Loss of pressure on Kenmore 16322

I can tell you EXACTLY what is wrong. Remove the tank and open all valves to the grill. Reconnect the tank and turn it on just slightly. Relight the grill.
Ther is a safety device in the tank that needs to be reset. The only way to do it is removing the tank.

Gas grill lights but doesn't get very hot

I had this same problem especially when the tank on my 5 burner 2 year-old Kenmore was about half full. The solution above fixed it. I was used to opening the gas fully, turning one burner to high and clicking the button. If I would have read the front of the grill I would have seen that this was incorrect. I turned off the grill completely, unhooked the regulator and reconnected it. With one burner on high I began clicking the button BEFORE I turned on the gas. I slowly turned the gas on one quarter turn and it lit up full flame. I slowly turned the gas another quarter turn and lit the second burner. I slowly opened the gas all the way and lit the third and so on. That did the trick!
