Bad vibration coming from top interior

My panasonic ne1056 has a loud vibration. I checked the fan blades thinking maybe a blade broke off or something but its ok. Seems to be coming from the top interior of the oven

I took a chance and decided...if I fix it...fine.....if not....maybe its time for a new one. So...I removed the outer cover and did a visual...and couldnt see anything obvious. I put a water load in it and ran it for 10 seconds and the vibration now seemed like it was coming from the bottom of the oven. I removed the interior shelf..and found the stirring blade was dirty and covered in grease. The small plastic runners were caked in grease...(cooking grease...not lubricating grease)..I cleaned it all up and put it back together and low and behold...it sounds like new.
I also found an excellent site for instructions on how to take apart and repair...and a parts list for this oven.

hope this helps someone else....

have a good day.

Sparks in the interior while microwave is on. Sparks come from the right side where there is a "cardboard like" cover over an opening.

IF THIS COVER IS DIRTY IT WILL SPARK. IF CLEANING IT DOES NOT HELP IT MAYBE CRACKED OR THE STIRRER BLADE MAY BE OFF

My Whirlpool microwave model MH9181XMT started making a loud noise while running (it sounds like a wobbly fan) It continues to heat and run perfectly but with the noise. Any ideas?

Assuming you already ruled out the exhaust fan there are 2 stirrer motors, one for the turntable and one for the stirrer blades in the top. One of those could be bad. eric

Exhaust fan doesn't work and blows air from top vent

Some microwaves have a adjustable fan. We have one that you can vent out the back, the back top or through the front top filters. The latter is what it sounds like you have. If you take the small back panel off and lift out the fan motor you'll see that you can place it in the direction you like.\\

Buzzing sound when the vent fan is turned on. Sound is high pitched, and I can't tell if it's coming from the top or bottom. Any suggestions?

I don't know if this applies in your case but I have had fans with metal blades that would resonate with a high pitched ringing sound. It may also be that a blade is slightly contacting a metalic mesh filter cartridge.

I have a ge above range spacemaker xl1800 it seems to work fine except their is a rattling noise when its running it sounds like a bad fan or something comeing loose it seems like its comeing from under...

The noise you are hearing is due to the fan. The fan is used to cool the magnetron during cooking, and because this fan is not working the magnetron is overheating and the thermal protector is opening, killing power to the unit. All you need to fix this is a new fan blade. The fan blade(look for part #80) is slipping on the motor shaft ( the noise you are hearing).

GE XL 1800

If the blade is broken then you can buy a new one from---

GE FAN BLADE

Please ask for further clarifications.

A Fixya rating would be appreciated if you find it useful.

Thanks

Vibration sound

There are two possible sources; the fan, which may have a loose sleeve bearing (fan must be replaced), or a transformer with loose laminations. The latter is a rare occurrance since most transformers are 'potted' or treated with epoxy resin.
After pulling the plug, the housing will be fairly easy to remove with a half-dozen or so screws around the edge of the back panel.
If the fan is then accessible, you could block the blades with any insultating material and briefly turn the unit on. Keep fingers clear of ANY part inside; danger of electrocution. If the vibration is missing, then the fan is at fault.
