    OMG! HELP!!!!!!

The engineer (loose term) came out. Said nothing about housing even tho I specifically asked then spent 35 mins on machine. His Outcome: Problem most likely drum or belt issue. He told us to change drum then if no joy go for more expensive problem ie; belt.

Issue is we replaced the drum 3 weeks ago as I thought this may be the problem. Clearly it isn't. He said we probably threw away the new one, installed the old one again? Deffo not as we checked the serial numbers on the drum to confirm (Oh I am good!). No issues with blk & white copies which i reported to him & he says stilldeffo drum?? Now he has left we have ANOTHER issue in that on any copy (colour or blk/white) we have markings at top of page 1 either side of page that were never there before. This he states, clarifies he diagnosis that it is drum or belt issue. I did state at the start that we believed the problem may be colour housing issue but he has not commented & ignored this completley in his answers. Think we will have to get "real" engineer from Xerox at a huge cost to come see the machine but wanted to know if his answers are plausable & if you would think the drum IS an issue? What does the drum do, I mean, what is it's role in the photocopier? Why can't you guys come fix it? Pretty plse x50 OR do you know of reputable engineers in our area? HELP

You have a bad developer housing . Most likely the magenta.
The developer housings have a tendency to have the screws inside the housing come loose and spew out the developer. That leaves an inadequate brush to apply the ink to the drum to make the correct copy.
You will need to have a technician come in, determine which housing is bad, order then replace that housing. It is a common problem on the 7132.

Ok thank you, I would appreciate that.
The magenta and black housings in particular show that problem.
The developer leaks out and normally the inboard side of the housing loses developer first. And the color is normally not right on the top of the page. Now watch, Yours will be the bottom of the page Heheh.
But I feel really confident that is your problem. Its not a difficult repair and will return the machine to perfect running order. The 7132 sure is an excellent running machine. Feed rolls and cleaning is most of the maintenance on it. Very well built product for this day and age where cheep seems to be the way to go. Xerox did an exceptional job on that machine.
Hey if you can, Dazzle away. If you really want to make an impression ask them if your machine has the auger retrofit on it !!! Ask them to check and see if your machine falls in the serial number range that requires the update. That may impress them LOL.

What did you find out? Was it one of the housings or something else?

Why is my printer printing faded colours

Hi Kath,
I expect you have it sorted by now.
I think you might have had one off the developer tanks stuck or broken. If the developer roller does not turn then the colour quickly fades along the page. If you tried to do a test page and that was good then there was nothing wrong with that side of things.
Good luck.

Faded black

Hi Evan Z,
Not quite sure what you mean faded black.
Is the print faded at one side or overall the page?
Now think if it's faded on on seed then it's possible that it could be a build up of toner on the laser head unit. If it's an overall faded page then look for possible poor connections on CRU's.
Check the other working CRU's do they look the same? Don't start turning rollers the opposite way they would normally rotate.
Finally a light overall image can occur when the developer tank has seized up, or a broken drive gear, effectively starving the developing system of fresh replenished toner.
All developer tanks regardless of colour work in the same way, perhaps a slightly different shape as to avoid incorrect fitment.
if in doubt goto the www.xerox.com website and seek more help there.
Good luck.

Fuju Xerox C525a not printing right edge

Clean the inside of the printer using the cleaning rod. See page 48 of the user manual.
Open front cover,
Pull out lever on the right side. This opens the access window cover on the right side of the printer.
Inside this access window is the cleaning rod handle. Pull it out and push it back in several times to clean printer.
When done push the rod back in and push the lever on the front right panel back in. Close the front cover and you're done.
Do this every time you replace the black toner.

I need the diferences between docucolor 12 and xerox 7132? please

Pretty vague question.
The Doc 12 probably has a Fiery Network controller, while the 7132 has a Fuji/Xerox controller.
The Doc 12 would have limited scanning capabilities while the 7132 can, depending on the config ordered, scan to E-mail, SMB, FTP, Scan to PC, and scan to a mailbox on the Xerox itself. If you have an embedded fax in the configuration, you can set it to catch incoming faxes and forward to e-mail, or a SMB or FTP folder on your PC or server.
The 7132 is rated at 8 pages a minute in color mode, and 30 pages a minute b&w.
The Doc 12 has been around since 2002, the 7132 is about 3 years old and has been replaced by the 7232.

I have a Xerox Phaser 8400 with image problems. After power up it prints a Startup Page - That page is black text which faded and slightly distorted in some areas and in areas that are in Color only...

What you are describing is a bad print head. You can try running the eliminate light stripes several times, and jet substitution, but most likely the print head will have to be replaced to remedy your problem.
You can try googling. Phaser printer print heads or phaser printheads.
There seems to be a secondary market appearing for those print heads. I can tell you from Xerox, if you have no maintenance agreement, they cost $750 per print head.
Honestly, having worked on about every type of color printer known to man, the new solid ink phaser printers, produce a dry ink image of 2400 x 2400 dpi with ink particles that align end to end. The resolution of those printers are remarkable and can be purchased for less than the price of one of those new print heads.
Now for reliable, albeit somewhat not as sharp a color image, but still exceptional, you really can not beat an HP.
The ink stick technology really no longer has the color vividness advantage it initially had. The inks that align end to end, have ended that advantage and are sure a lot cheaper to operate per page.

I have used my iP1300 with no problem until it ran out of ink and now the red is very orange and the whole page is faded. I have run a head clean, is there anything else I can do?

Hi - try this. Get cartridges into centre of printer - turn power off by pulling the power lead out. - (dont press power button as cartridge may head back inside - a no no.)
Remove all cartridges, then remove print head by lifting the arm to the right of the printhead. Carefully blot dry all ink showing top and bottom of the printhead with a lint free 'paper" - the stuff they make baby wipes out of is ok as it does not fall apart as does paper tissue.

Wash the print head under warm very clean running water until all colour stops running from top and bottom. Blot dry from time to time to check the clolour is finished. When it is so, make sure all of cartridge is DRY then replace in cartridge holder and close right arm down.

Replace ink cartridges, close top lid and power on again. You should check you cartridges are the correct colour ie not purple or orange etc before reinserting them - else you will have the problem again.

Go into maintenance mode and run cleaning on all colours - this will flush ink thru all heads. Do a nozzle check and it should be all pretty good.
