OS please, then are you having a built in wireless card?

In order to be helpful, I would need more information. Please be as specific as possible.

    1. What router are you using? Please submit make, model and revision (if exists), i.E. "Linksys WRT54G v 4)

    2. I assume that your main computer is connected to your router via an cable? Is that correct?

    3. I further assume that your computers are using WIndows. Is it Windows 95/98, 2000, XP, or Vista?

    4. If you are using any wireless adapter cards, which ones?
I very much assume that there is just a wrong setting in your router, but in order to get this corrected, I need the information above.

Just come back here and leave a comment - I'm happy to help.

All the computers in the house should connect to the netgear wireless.

The netgear should in turn connect to the arris modem.

And yes, all the computers should be able to access the internet at the same time when setup this way. You shouldn't have to reset the modem at all.

You have to enter the router password on every wireless device you want to connect to the internet. You usually only have to do it once per device, but it won't connect without the password. The password it's looking for may be on the label on the router or in the wireless setup page of the router.

I would go wireless. Try to connect to the net using a laptop (wireless) at the guest house. If the signal strength is decent you should be fine with getting a wireless NIC for the PC in the guest house.

If the signal strength is bad, either buy a 802.11N router (make sure it's N and not draft N, these should be available now or within a few weeks (nov 09), or buy another access point and connect it via ethernet to the main access point. you only want one modem and one gateway generally speaking.

Open Zonealarm, choose Firewall, Zones.

Add >> IP Range set your IP range eg 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.254

This should allow connection between Router and Wireless Laptop/Desktop.

If your wireless PC cannot see the router, check your router setting to see if you are transmitting a SSID

My main computer has internet but my other computers in the house cant find my netgear but windows cant connect

It sounds like you are using Windows Zero Conguration, go into advanced properties and de-select "Allow Windows to configure my wireless connection". Then you need tpo find your wireless utility that comes as part ofd the installtion for your wireless adapter and use that instead. On your laptop it is probably going to be Intel Pro-Set Wireless Configuration Utility.

Try that.

What type of internet connection do you have? (ie. Cable, DSL)

Has your setup worked in the past or is this a new setup?
