Turn off gas source, check gas line for possible blockage to that 3rd burner, sometimes when we cook food with liquid , such as sauces or soups , then tend to overflow and get into the burners and the gas lines causing a blocked gas line, where the lower half of gas line is filled with liquid,,,

SOURCE: gas will not flow to burner to light grill?

The new style OPD valves have a small brass ring located in the female fitting on the LP tank. Over time this ring can work loose and then it does not allow the male fitting to fully depress the OPD valve thus reducing your gas flow
Using a small flat bladed screw driver tighten the small brass ring This should solve your problem

SOURCE: the first burner seems to burn very low and not very hot

Hello,
If it was me, I would, first try to clean them and see if that improves the flames. During the course of cleaning you can determine if the burners are corroded and needing replacement or just caked up and dirty. Are the burners stainless steel or cast iron? Cast iron lasts longer, and tends to get smaller in flames when it's seams corrode shut. Plus it is easier to clean. Stainless steel tends to corrode and fall apart, causing flare ups and unsafe use. SOURCE: I'm aving a low flame

If you're turning off your propane tank after each use (which is fine), you will need to turn it back on very, very slowly. The new OPD valves that are now required on all portable propane tanks, will lock up the regulator if it's turned on to fast. Also, check all the pilot orifices for clogs. And finally, be sure you have enough gas in the tank.

U can light the pilot lite, turn 2 ON it will stay lit 4 a couple of minutes then go out? If u turn the knob 2 low, med. It goes out pretty much immediately?I changed the thermocouple, blew the lines ou

Is the thermocouple secure, routed properly, no kinks, no sharp bends? Is the end of the unit properly aligned so the hottest part of the pilot flame is hitting the unit. Did you hold pilot switch in the light position for at least 30 seconds, before you set the gas valve to on? If all above OK, try this. Light the pilot using barbeque lighter once it lights keep the lighter on the t-couple for 30 seconds, then set the valve to ON and keep the lighter where it is. Once the main burner lights, remove the lighter. If the burner and pilot go off, your gas valve is bad.

Mike, your gas regulator is locked up. To solve the problem, do the following.

1. Turn the tank valve OFF and disconnect the hose from the tank.

2. Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank.

3. Open the tank valve VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow) until the valve is fully open.

4. Light on burner and turn it to HIGH. Does the flame height look correct? If so, light the other
burner the exact same way. Do both flame heights look correct? If so, you solved the problem.

In the future, always remember to turn the tank valve ON very, very slowly.

If the above didn't solve the problem. You will need to replace the grill's Hose/Regulator Assembly. You can pick one up from any hardware store or home center that sells gas grills & accessories for about $30.00. Take you old one with you for comparison purposes.

Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Happy Grilling!!

Grill does not get hot enough. Which seem like low gas flow. One burner does not light

Yes, it is probably low gas flow. I assume you feel comfortable that there's a reasonable amount of gas in the tank.

Here's what you need to do. Turn OFF the LP Tank Valve and disconnect the hose from the tank. Wait 5 minutes. While you're waiting lift out the tank. Does it feel as heavy as it should? Or does it feel lighter than it should? If it feels lighter, you're either very low or have run out of gas.

In either case, here's what you need to do when you reinstall that tank or a new one. Attach the hose to the tank. Turn the tank valve On VERY, VERY SLOWLY ( I'm talking slow motion). Once the valve is fully open, light the burner that's farthest from the tank and turn it to the highest setting. Does the burner flame look correct? If it does, light the next burner and turn it to high and continue doing that until all the burners have been lighted. If the first burner flame doesn't look correct after you lit it. Turn the tank OFF and repeat what you did previously. If it still fails to produce the right flame heights, either the venturri valves on each burner are clogged or the regulator is locked up.. You will have to remove the burners to clean them. If that fails to solve your problem, buy a new grill hose and regulator. You can purchase it at either Lowe's or Home Depot or your local hardware store. Just be sure to take yours with you, so that you can get the right length and brass fitting size matches.

I'm sure this will solve your problem. Please be kind enough to let me know.

Happy Grilling

How do I light the grill manually

Get a butane grill lighter. Open the hood of your grill. Remove the cooking grates and one by one turn the burner to low. Light the butane grill lighter prior to turning the burner on and as you turn the burner to low touch the flame of the lighter to the burner. Leave all burners on low, until you replace the cooking grates. Be very very careful, as you don't want gas to buildup before each burner is lit.

Then contact Brinkman for replacement ignitors.

I have a whirlpool gas range , it must be the cheapest one as it has no electrical connections, and I have no manual ,how do I light the pilot lite ????

There are actually two pilot lights to light, (maybe three) Under the top there would be the old style flash back tubes leading from two burners to a pilot. This small flame stays lit while the gas is on. When you turn a burner on some gas flows back through the tube and flashes or lilghts the burner.
When you turn the gas on there is always gas through the pilots, unless shut off with the little set screws if you follow the lines. From the factory these are on and open. Small set screws also adjust pilot flame size.
THe other pilot for the oven is down by the main burner. There is a small cap tube from the gas valve to a holder just under the burner. This is where it is lit..........
There is another line to the thermostat when you lturn it on that opens more gas to increase the pilot to a biggger flame to open the gas valve burner assembly.
.Also ranges usually come set for natural gas, and you have to do spud adjustments, regulator, air flow only if you want to change to lp......
Put a new flex line on, and be careful with gas...........

Poor gas flow. Burners will not stay lit. Gas

Try taking a large hammer or set of vice grips and banging pretty heftily on the tubes feeding the burners. These are usually build ups of Carbon. If not, then make sure your connections are good (sort of move them around to see if they are loose), and make sure your propane is not getting too close to empty (you can shake it around and feel/hear the propane).

Low flame

Either ;
1 your valve is not opening on your tank,
2 your regulator is bad on your tank, or
3 your out of gas.

Unless your second burner is going fine then you have :
4 a bad burner valve control not opening or
5 Some cobwebs inside the burner blocking the gas flow.

If this helps you please rate me with as high a mark as you can. Thanks for using Fix ya and Good Luck
