SOURCE: I want to remove completely
mywebsearch is considered to be Malware, which can hijack your computer as well as your settings. It is not the easiest Malware to remove but with these easy steps, it will be gone in no time!
Download, install and run a full scan with this free software:
This process will take at least one hour depending on how many files you have and the speed of your computer.
After the scan, follow malwarebytes advice on how to remove all the Malware. Don't be suprised when you see over 1000 Malware on the system as this is how many mywebsearch places there.
Once you remove all, restart the computer. Run a quick scan with malwarebytes to make sure all is gone.
Malware (mywebsearch in particular) is downloaded with Lime wire and other free software. be careful with Lime wire as many viruses are allowed to enter from open ports.
I recommend a good paid anti-virus as well as malwarebytes to keep the computer virus free in the future. I personally use kaspersky.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask and thank you for using Fixya!

In Firefox you can click in the search box by the search engine icon.
There is a little triangle , or just click the icon itself.
A drop down box should appear with all of the available search engines.
At the bottom of this list is an option to "Manage Search engines", select it.
On the following screen you will have the option to select and remove/rearrange any of the search engines installed in Firefox.
Also you can remove it in the control panel--- Add/Remove programs applet (Win XP) or in "programs and features" in Win7 if it was installed as a separate APP.
Hope this helps if not repost
