Not showing up at all on imac. Is the 8 in 1 reader too old to read an SDHC card? Will the SDDR89 show up on a mac?

That reader fully supports SDHC. You should start troubleshooting the issue by either restarting your Mac or using a different USB port. Macs shut down specific USB ports if an error is detected. But since the ports are usually independent you can just try another port. Also, Mac OS X will not mount a card/drive until it has performed nessisary repairs to it so you will sometimes have to wait a bit longer for some drives/cards to mount.

Hi, Thank you for responding. I tried everything but nothing worked and the 8 in 1 is not damaged. I eventually purchased an el cheapo dedicated micro sd card reader which works fine. Appreciate your response, thanx again.

SOURCE: sandisk not compatible with mac computers

Disregard my last.  I plugged it into my Mac, nothing happened, as usual.  I waited 15 mins or so and it mounted the drive!  I haven't determined if I'll have to wait that long every time.  Again, this is MSC mode (MainMenu/Settings/USBMode).  But now drag-and-drop works just fine.  Also, see freeware "SyncTunes" at

No, it's a hardware issue. Your 8GB card is an SDHC card (the HC stands for High Capacity), but the card reader in your machine is clearly only compatible with the older type SD cards. SDHC devices will accept SD cards, but devices designed solely for SD cards cannot read or format SDHC cards.

There is no firmware update for this, your only fix is to buy an external reader compatible with SDHC cards for connection via a USB socket. Most new readers are fully SDHC compliant, but check the specs for shelling out your hard-earned...

SanDisk ImageMate 12in1 cannot read SCHC 4GB or higher cards

Correct!!!! This card reader cannot address cards that are higher then 3gig and cannot read sdhc cards. Most older readers will not be able to read the HC type card, and by older I mean if its 6 months old or more. To read these cards you need to purchase a new card reader. I know, My camera uses 4gig cards and I was unable to access the pics until I bought a new reader..

I have been given a SanDisk Flashcard for an iMac. How do I put photos from iPhoto on it, pls?

you Need to get a card reader so that you can insert the card into it. this is usually done via a USB port. Once you have this done then the card will show up on the right side of your desktop as a little disk icon. You can then just select the photos and click and drag them onto the disk icon on the desktop. the pictures will be copied as JPG files which can be read by any other computer.

Transcend not working in comp.

Cards over 2GB are MicroSDHC. Your reader will have to be able to read SDHC in order to read your card. Unfortunately, your reader maybe to old. You probably will need to buy a newer reader capable of reading SDHC cards.

Sd Card reader not recognising SDHC cards

When You Insert your SD card into the internal card reader, then the SD card is not recognised by the system and the SD card drive doesn't show there. The problem can be because of driver issue, system issue and device issue.
To fix the problem you need to go at device manager if there is a yelllow sign in SD card controller, the problem is most probably caused by a driver issue. Then you need to update the driver. You can also download the driver for your card reader.
Also, check if your SD Card is broken. You can also check it into different devices port.
If it is detected then you can backup of your data.

If the problem not resolved by any means and you require you SD Card data then I will suggest you read -
