Oven won't heat

I have a whirlpool oven RBS245PDQ6 I used the self cleaning option. Everything seemed to work fine, but the next day I tried to use the oven and I have no heat - the broiler will not heat up either. Any ideas. Thanks

The only reason I know the answer to your question is because I am having the same problem. Our appliance quit working after we used the cleaning option. Both the bake and broiler quit at the same time. Our local repair man said that the problem is caused from a malfunctioning thermostat, which is about a $300 fix.

I have a Whirlpool electric build in oven with self-cleaning feature. It is about 8 years old and we just used the self-cleaning feature for the first time last week. The oven was not that dirty, but...

Your thermal fuse or TOD mounted to the back of the oven went out during the self clean,it shuts off the power to the elements.
The oven must be removed from the wall to change this.

Whirlpool 27" wall oven. no heat after self clean

Self cleaning features are not recommended by most appliance technicians. The ovens are not constructed satisfactorily to expel the 1000 degree heat, Therefore the thermal fuses blow as well as other parts failures.
Remove the oven. Remove the rear panel. Replace the thermal fuse in the back of the oven. Use Easy Off next time.

had same problem, had computer checked out by profesisonal. Was ok. But it seems it is the control pad that clean cycle screws up. Try this (thanks to my wife and her experimental prowess). 1. turn oven on to custom broil. 2. push down temp button to 375. 3. press bake button. 4. You should now have up or down temp. We think you have to get past pre heat cycle in order for this to work. But work it does.
