Question about Magic Chef CMV1000B Microwave Oven
My Magic Chef MCO160UW intermittently shuts off during cooking. It is often with popcorn, but has happened with other foods. It's still under warrranty, but MC says this "underload condition" is normal and says I need to put a cup with a few ounces of water in with the food. The unit worked fine without this problem for about 6 months, but now it seems to be getting progressively more common. Also, I've owned micro's since they first came out and have never encountered this problem. Is there a probable defective thermal overload protection, or is this indeed a normal condition? Thanks in advance!!
This is a defect. RERURN it while it is still under warranty. Tell the counter person you need to speak to his/her supervisor if they give you that song and dance again. Threaten to file a complaint with the better business bureau and with your state's attorney general. Be firm but polite and insist that they honor the warranty.
