My amana furnace will not stay lt. When this first occured last year, I replaced the ignitor and it worked for weeks. The it stopped working again and i bought anothor ignitor. it worked well for about...

Hot surface igniters are very unforgiving and brittle. The common causes of repeated cracks is moisture, oils and stress. Be sure the igniter is perfectly flat and not being pulled or pushed on any part of its mounting surface. Look closely around the crack. If any condensation hits it when hot, it will leave a slight discoloration, and it will crack. Also, the oils from your fingers will cause a weak spot when its heated and will crack it.

Every time it rains my van wont start. next day its ok. what could i do to fix? its a 1993 gmc rally g-3500 van

check the ignition coil for spark or cracking noise there might be a crack in the casing .....do the same for the distributor cap. If you cant seem to see the problem take a water bottle and spray around your engine whiles its in idle and listen to see if the engine sounds different ....but only spray one part at a time.

Also, have you been using regular gas or premium as premium gas can cause your engine to not combust properly if it wasn't designed for premium
