Hi, my punto stutters when driven and amber engine light on dashboard flashes on and off. is it safe to drive?
The amber MiL light, lights on a number of problems. You need to get it sorted, you could miss a serious fault, and cause More damage. Needs to go on a code reader. From past experience with Punto's, the stutter could be a ignition coil fault (quite common) or a spark plug, both will cause the light to come on. Good Luck.

hi i have recently bought a 1200 fiat punto sporting and it driving my nuts every time i go to try fill it up the petrol backs up and comes out all over the floor can you tell me what causes it and if their is a cure as its inconvient and an embarressment

you need to change the flasher unit .... also check fuse # 24 on the fuse panel inside the vehicle. the flasher unit should be just under the dash on the steering wheel side... i have alot of information on that vehicle but i couldn't find where exactly the flasher unit is located.

I had a similar problem with a 98 sporting. It turned out to be firstly the clutch had worn down to almost nothing and the fuel filter hadn't been changed in a good while so it got clogged. I would do the filter first. (located just under the drivers side near the rear wheel.

that sounds like a clutch problem. get it checked asap because if that goes you may get stuck in netural and not go anywhere happened to me and it has not nice. if you start smelling a burning smell. that is defo your clutch
