SOURCE: where can i find a

Hello, depends where you live! Here in the UK take it to PC World for their techies to fix for you as they'll have the correct cooling fans in stock, or, if you're adventurous, take it with you to Maplins ~(for them to see the size) and they'll sell you a fan that you can fit yourself. If you're in the USA try Radio Shack or you may have a local computer shop with a technician who'll sell you a spare, or even fit it for you cheaply. Don't even bother to take the old one apart to try and fix; it's just not worth the hassle. Regards nicam49

Replacing the bearing on the cooling fan

Before replacing bearing, I'd try to lube the bearings with machine oil. Any oil which is used in light machinery will do.

I had an issue with my cooling fan making noise and despite cleaning the dust it did not help. I got told to replace the fan but I was reluctant and use the oil I got with my hair trimmer to lube the axle of the cooling fan and still that did not work. However, to my surprise, after few hours the noise stopped and then I understood that the oil took some time to reach the right places to lubricate the bearings and now it's all good.

Hope that helps.

Hi, I have two of these UPS and in both the cooling fan makes a lot of noise, is that normal, or how I can do it to stop that noise. Thanks

try removing the fans and remove a sticker at the centre, to find bearings, clean them with a cloth then spray Iso-Propyl alcohol (IP) clean with dry cloth put few drops of low viscosity oil(2T oil will help).tell me if the noise do reduce.

Cooling fan makes little noise now and then on my xj6.

mcdevito75, This could be some wear in the bearings of the cooling fan, keep an eye out for the noise getting worse, if so replace the fan with a new one. These cooling fans are sealed units so when the niose gets to be too much you"ll have to replace with brand new.

The cpu fan makes noise then stops. Is there any way to lube it? It's a TP23

Most fans like that you can peel away the label in the center and put light oil on the bearing and work the fan in and out lightly to get the lube into the bearing. It is best to replace though, as they are not reliable once you have to lube. The original lube has worn out and the bearing is scored adding friction.

Over heat cooling fan load noise remove and replace

A bearing more than likely has went bad causing your fan to stop properly cooling your unit. Replace with a compatible fan and you should be all set. Hope this helps.

Fisher-Paykel washer pump noise & some water left in tub

Lube the brass bearings on the motor. For some reason the bearing on the bottom nearest to the cooling fan will start to whine. I would guess because it's kicking dust up around the unit. I used a lube that will hold in place. Lube between the bracket that holds the motor together and by the fan. The noise should stop. I also suggest you lube the top bearing as well. The lube I recommend is a Silicone paste type.

After Recording

Unit sounds like it has a small cooling fan at the rear. A bad fan bearing will produce a noise when dried-out. Replace the cooling fan.
