Question about RCA D56W20 56" Rear Projection Television

Will not turn on

When I turn on my Tv the power light turns on for a few seconds and then shuts off.  It does this three times and then the power light will not come on again no matter how many times I try for a few minutes.  If I wait a couple of minutes it does the same thing again with the power light coming on and going off three times.  Is this a code to let me know what is wrong.  We do not have a repair place for televisions where I live.   I was told it may be the high voltage tripler.  please help if you can.  I really don't want to have to throw it out.

Experiencing the Flashing Green Light of Death. TV cycles on and attempts to turn on but wont. Power light flashes 3 times and then shuts off. Attempts can be repeated only after 1 minute wait period. After cycling many times over the TV might turn on. Does anyone have a solution. We have similar fate as previous posts. There are no TV Repair places in Labrador City NL.

Check CP150 capacitor,it's near the center of the power/scan board. If the top is swelled, replace it.

First you need to do a self test diagnosis and then if it comes up with:
SELF-DIAGNOSIS ERROR 23 OR 24. CHECK SOLDER CONNECTIONS AT CONNECTOR "DY" ON THE YOKES. 2. SHUTDOWN AT POWER WITH SELF-DIAGNOSIS ERROR 23 OR 24. CHECK C411 2200 UFD 35 V AND C412 10 UFD 50 V, BOTH LOCATED ON THE MAIN PCB
Do self test by pressing Input/Device and Menu at the same time for 5 sec. the set will show a 2 digit seq. first blinks followed by a short pause then the second.

Power problem

Three blinks - B+ over voltage protection (OVP), unit goes to the standby mode then displays the 3 blink fault. This is also a problem in the power supply circuit, check T603 and R672.
