Cannot enter radio code for Opel Astra.

I am trying to enter the radio code on my 2000 Opel Astra but when I press and hold the AS key and turn on the radio I don't get the option to enter the code: the display just shows SAFE. The AS key is not doing anything. Am I doing something wrong?

The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

SOURCE: opel factory fitted radio codes

Unfortunately the majority of SIEMENS/VDO codes (including your CDR 2005 )  will  NOT  be available for free (or cheap)  from anywhere on the Internet as access is required to the original factory database…which is not commercially available..
Try your Main Dealer or a Decoding Service or your local Car Radio / Audio Shop (who are normally the cheapest option) who will connect it to a laptop to read/recode the memory chip (EEPROM)

To reset from 7SAFE  then LEAVE SWITCHED ON ....UNDISTURBED for as long as it takes to automatically reset itself (usually an hour or two)

SOURCE: got the codes for opel astra put them in wrong 3

unfortunatly there is no recovery from 3 x wrong input, when this has been done there is a chip that locks out, and you cannot recover it, you can however try removing the battery for a while abou half an hour to see if it will reset so you can put the code back in this is not gaurenteed to work as some chips blow deliberatly as a security device incase the radio is stolen it makes it u/s to the person...if you have a serila and make/ modle i might be able to help with a code if you can get it back to the stage where it asks for one..hope this works

How can i fix if faul code er 77 , large circuit resistance triggered patron side airbag on the left side.I have tried to pull out contact on the ECU but no results.

Each manufacturer has different reset procedures if you can't take it to a garage and reset by odii ecu computer routes.forums for your make and model will suggest something similar to leaving the driver door open and then hold the courtesy light switch at the bottom of door before turning on ignition.turn on ignition one click but don't start the car.then release and press the door light switch say 5 or 6 times within ten seconds on the last count hold it in and turn off the ignition.close door then start car.sometimes you need to experiment as the number changes with different car resets on 7 presses and I have to close the drivers door and open passenger door before I start car.

Radio lock

Try this if it works to your unit;

Type 1
During the code request mode, while holding the DISP key depressed, press and hold the Volume UP or DOWN key for 3 seconds (so that “…” disappears).
Then using your remote enter your code.

Type 2
Press the "Auto" button and "Track up" on face of radio at the same time. The four dash lines ( . . . . ) should "disappear".

Then using your remote enter your code.

Type 3
Model# DPX-4020 and DPX-4030
Press and hold the 1 then the 6 preset key (preset keys are the buttons on face of radio for storing you "favorite" radio stations). "C" should display.
Then using your remote, enter your code.

Enter your number from the remote control unit. Your code number is 5227 (KCAR)

* Press numeric key “5” ( 2 times ) and press the Track UP/Next Track key
* Press numeric key “2” ( 3 times ) and press the Track UP/Next Track key
* Press numeric key “2” ( 1 time ) and press the Track UP/Next Track key
* Press numeric key “7” ( 2 times ) and press the Track UP/Next Track key

hope this may help;

Entering Code for Car Stereo

Turn on the ignition, turn the radio off fully. (by preeing the volume wheel knob) press AS or the button that turns it to CD mode (should have circle on button)keep it pressed and turn radio on. wait for a beep then it should be somthing like:

10----------- (10 being the number of tries left)
use buttons 1,2,3 & 4 to input your code. press the button more than once for it to rise higher.

Hope this helped.
