Question about Measuring Tools & Sensors

Fluke 12 multimeter

Hi! The Range switch on my Fluke 12DMM no longer works in any of the ranges - Volts AC/DC, Ohm etc. I have opened it and the actual push switch is fine. I have cleaned the little multi-connector cable as well as the contacts both sides. Still no go. Any ideas would be welcome. Regards, Eric

Short Answer = YES.
Fluke 16 has a 4000mV range that can be entered only manualy. If you use auto range it will go to 4V as the lovest range but if you keep pressing range button you can go to 4000mV range with 1mV resolution.

Using a good quality digital multimeter (voltmeter) set to DC VOLTS should be an adequate measuring device for that purpose.

Switch is the problem here, see if you can clean contacts or check if switch contacts are broken.

My Fluke 179 has stopped beeping (mode switch/continuity/range alert) Any way to fix this?

Needs new buzzer disc, or maybe buzzer disc fell out of its place and just repositioning it fixes the problem.

Reads random voltage in AC mode

I use a fluke everyday. If it has been dropped, it will need to be recalibrated by fluke. Mine has a range button, try to use a lesser or greater range depending on what range it fluctuates
