Ethernet controller

That yellow exclamation mark means you don't have the correct driver for your ethernet card.
You didn't say if your operating system was 32-bit or 64-bit so I'll give you links to both versions of the driver.

Here is the 32-bit LAN driver:

Here is the 64-bit LAN driver:

I cannot install more than 512 md ram in my motherboard nforce4 (DFI). it only boot with 512 mb ram stick. if i install 2 sticks it cant boot

it may be that one of the sticks are bad, try booting with one, then the other one. i had the same problem and it turned out one of the sticks were bad. if thats not the case, at least that narrows it down a little

I've XP Pro installed on Seagate IDE 80G hard drive about 4 years ago. 4 days ago, when I boot up and it shows the Windows\system32\Config\system is missing. I tried to reinstall XP without format but was...

you will need to repartition the 40gb drive and set the partion active once again for the computer to be able to utilise the disc appropriately.if it has an OS on it i would recommend a full low level format and then using disc management set it active etc.

if this answers your query please rate my answer accordingly

Amd processor

your motherboard has Socket 462. look for Socket 462 processors when shopping around, and keep in mind that the bus speed of the processor will have to be in between 100 and 200.

Dual chanel problem

The beeps your hearing are known as bios beeps. They are telling you there is a problem with your memory. On your board the four dimm slots are split into two groups. A & B. Pg. 19 of your manual. Please read Pg. 21. Remove all your memory & put only two of your 512 Dimms into slot 1 & slot 3. Boot the Pc. Notice any beeps? Check your boot screen to see if bios sees the current memory as matched memory. Shut the Pc down & remove memory, replace with the other 2 Dimms in the same slots. Boot Pc. Again check to see if memory is being seen as matched memory & no beeps. Are you getting the idea here. What we are doing is trying to find which if any dimms may have a problem & which dimms work in which channel. Increase in size to 3 dimms or 1.5Gb in memory till you find a working order with no beeps. If you think 1 or more dimms may be faulty download a free test program called -Memtest86 at this link.
http://www.memtest.org/ Scroll down till you see - ** Memtest86+ V1.70 (01/14/2007) ** all typed in red. Here you can choose what type of bootable file you want. An iso or a zip. You can creat a bootable floppy or a bootable CD.
This should help. If you have trouble & need more information please post back.

Installing new hard drive.

From what it sounds like it is not your motherboard or harddrive. it is the formating of the hard drive. What is the format you are using for your harddrive ? FAT32 or NTFS ? are you Partitioning your drive ? Are you familure with dos commands ?
