Easy shot plus staple gun model 5800

Trying to locate replacement staples for easyshot plus stapler. I did not load it originally. I see on the bottom right side the numbers 1/4, 3/8, 9/16. can i go to a hardware or big box store and get any brand name staple such as Arrow in the above sizes and have them fit in my easyshot plus? Thank you

I cannot find staples for the easyshot plus Model # 5800 staple gun. I have been to home depot, walmart, a true value hardware store. the arrow staples do not fit. The problelm is not the length of the staple but the width. The "loader" will not go into the stapler after loading the staples. I think the "plus" part of the title of the stapler is the problem . it must have been a short-lived model and they do not make staples for it. I cannot find an 800 telephone number for the "power shot" company that manufactured the stapler. If you can given me an email address and /or a phone # for the company, I would be grateful. Thank you.

SOURCE: Staple Gun Troubleshooting

Most of the staple gun models lack an "anvil" — the metal plate with curved slots that office staplers use to bend the legs of the staple inwards and flattens them against the paper. Staples set with a staple gun retain their straight legs, and are held in place only by static friction of the legs against the compressed surrounding material, much like common nails. Indeed, some staple gun models can handle brads and nails as well as staples. Some staple guns also use divergent point staples where the legs twist as the staple drives into the surface providing superior holding power.

SOURCE: Stanley TR70 Manual Stapler won't accept Arrow 1/4" staples

It sounds like you have a light duty stapler and are trying to use heavy duty staples. 1/4" refers to the length of the legs not the thickness of the actual staple. You probably just need light duty staples.

Squeeze the plastic clips that are located on the opposite side from where the staples come out. Squeeze and pull straight out. There is a rail inside, where the staples sit. When loading the staples, keep them in the same orientation as they are expected to come out when you are using it (sharp edge down).

SOURCE: LOAD IT

pull out the spring at the end of the gun. turn the staple gun upside down. Lay the staples in the track pointed side up, push in the spring slide so that it locks. You are ready to staple.

Why won't Easy Shot staples advance/shoot?

Hi Elaine, The EasyShot stapler is a bottom load stapler. Please follow the steps below to make sure you are loading the staples correctly.

- Turn the tool upside down so that you can read the text "use light duty narrow crown" on the bottom of the magazine

- Open the magazine of the tool

- Place the staples inside the channel (not on the back of the magazine rail)

- Close the magazine.

Attached is a picture so you can see where to place the staples.

If you are still having trouble please contact our customer service department and we can assist you further.

I have been trying to load the stapler but when I put the cartrage back into the unit it starts making a weird noise and the the screen still shows load staples so I do not know whether I am doing...

Remove the stapler cartridge and look on the clear plastic part of the cartridge. Do you see the arrow pointing towards the puncher side of the cartridge. The arrow of the replacement staples should line up. I've had customers put the staples in upside down before. The only problem is that you then have to take the staple cartridge apart to remove these staples and reuse them. . You just have to release the 4 clips at the bottom and carefully remove the piece. Be careful of the black arm that hangs down when the cartridge is held in the up position. When replacing the bottom back on, the orientation of this arm is important ( upside down or right side up) . This tells the copier that the staples are out. Hope this helps.

I have an ACE aircraft aluminum stapler... I bought Ace Heavy Duty Staples 3/8" 10mm Narrow Crown Arrow T50 staples but cannot get the arm to load with them on it.

Possibly you are trying to load it from the back with the arm out. This way does not work. With this stapler you must pull the arm out all the way and then drop the staplers in the bottom. Too easy, right? I felt like a dumb a$$ after fighting this one for an hour. By the way, it will take heavy duty staples but you need to match the item codes printed on the side of the stapler with the box at ACE hardware. Hope this helps... Say "yes" to "was this solution helpful?" so I can know that im not the only one who did this wrong :)

WHERE do I open it to refill it??

Located on the end opposite of where the staples come out, there is a spring loaded cap. Push it in toward the base of the stapler and slightly down to release the retaining hook. then let the spring release the pressure rod and pull it out. Connedted to the end of the rod you will see a plunger that is shaped like a short run of staples. Make a mental note of how and where this plunger slides into the base of the stapler. Place a run of staples into the stapler in the same manner that the plunger fits then replace the plunger into the same place following the run of staples. Compress the spring into the stapler and attach the hook as it was. Now you are ready to work.

NOTE: If you cannot compress the spring enough into the stapler you have inserted too many staples, just remove some of the run of staples and try again.

Finding stainless steel staples

Your best bet would be to look for the size staple you want on McMaster-Carr Industrial Supply. In the search box on the top left, search for staples. You will receive a page where you can find the staple you are looking for.

Another option is to use Galvanized staples. They will have a longer lifetime in rusty environments!

Good Luck!
