SOURCE: washer won't spin at all
YEH WHAT YOU NEED TO DO IS TAKE OFF THE MOTOR AND CHECK TO SEE IF THE CARBON BRUSHES ARE WORN OUT HAD THE SMAE PROBLEM TODAY WITH A MACHINE CAND THE IT WAS THE CARBON BRUSHES. THERE NOT VERY EXPENSIVE TO BUY AND VERY EASY TO FIT. tHE MOTOR IS ON THE BOTTOM OF THE DRUM AND IS ATTACHED BY TWO 13 MM BOLTS. UNDOO THEM CUT THE TIE CLIP WHICH IS CONNECTED TO THE MOTOR. UNSCREW THE TWO SCREWS EACH FOR BOTH BRUSHES. CHECK TO SEE HOW FAR THE STICK OUT FROM THEIR BALCK HOLDERS, IF THEY ONLY STICKING OUT A FEW MM THEN YOU WILL HAVE TO CHANGE THEM HOPEFULLY THAT WILL SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM. I RECONDTION HOPTPOINT MACHINES ALL DAY AND MOST LIKELY THIS IS YOUR PROBLEM.

Check your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean. There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too. If all this doesn't work check your pump(may be clogged), refer to manual.
Rate me pl.....if helped.

Suspect motor brushes need replacing.
Simple task accessed by removing the top of the washer and releasing the clips holding the brushes into the motor - clip on back of brush - to remove the brush assembly.
Replace complete brush assembly.

Remove the motor, and check the brushes in the motor, if o/k, then could be a board prob, or something as simple as a broken or bad connection.
Pleasre rate my solution.
