Question about Gaggia Unica Bean To Cup Coffee Machine
When starting the machine I am requested to prime it. When priming it, only a little water comes out of the steam wand, and it stops after 10 seconds with a red exclamation mark. I therefore turn the steam knob returning me to the original situation where it asks to be primed. After trying to prime 3 times this way, all red signs starts flashing rapidly. I have descaled it with citric acid trying these 3 cycles of water priming for a week, but no help.
Same problem and I FIX it!
The problem was the flow meter (turbine) which can cause two problems:
The second one by limestone that block the flow meter rotor
Before reconnect pipes, blow with your mouth into the In hole. You should hear the rotor rotating very well.
Hope this help

SOURCE: Gaggia Coffee
Hello, I have been experienceing the same problem since I bought this thing. I used to have the classic Gaggia until it died after 15 years. however, when I went to this one it just didn't function the same.I was having water leaks come from the group assy so I replaced the group valve assy which I saw a diffrence and it functioned properly for a few days, then It was acting up again. No steam to froth and water bypassing the group assy... I then removed the valve assy again and saw it was somewhat clogged of mineral deposits.I cleaned it and after a few days once again it wasn't frothing as it should. Yesterday I completely tore this thing apart but couldn't figure out how to remove the steam valve assy. Does anyone have any ideas?? I removed the 2 screws and it won't move. OH BEFORE I FORGET!!! It was working fine the other day and while I was in the middle of frothing, it suddenly went to half pressure.... ANY IDEAS?? Thank you in advance....

Yes it can be repaired if you have the parts, you will need the complete steam valve with the o-ring that connects to the boiler check the diagram below.
