Check the water fill tube through the back wall of the freezer.

It is probably frozen and the water pressure causes the hose to come loose.

Defrost the tube if it is frozen.

Defrosted the freezer section and also used a hairdryer to clear out to tube. I left the fill line full of water and heated the water with the hairdryer then forced the water through into the icemaker. So far the hose stayed on and we are making ice again.

Have you checked the light switch. It is common for the light switch to also keep the icemaker from driving the ice through the door. It shouldn't keep the icemaker from making ice though. It could be the icemaker being bad or the water valve being bad.

I need to know what the black hose is for on the back of the refrigerator that runs from the bottom left corner to the top right corner.

It would be the fill tube for the icemaker. some frig's are setup for this even though they don't have any icemaker.

I have a GE Refrigerator 25 CUFT SS Side/Side GSS25SGSS will not get cold, freezer has ice build-up on back wall

you need to remove the rear access panel inside the freezer and find the defrost heater and check this and see if the element is open,it is under and the side s of the evaporator, and if this is good you need to see if the defrost timer or adaptive defrost board is bad

Makes ice but is very slow to dispense and makes a load bumping noise

Turn off the water to the icemaker. Locate the plug from the icemaker to the freezer & disconnect it. There is usually 2 screws under the icemaker that mounts it to the freezer, remove them. Some may have a screw or 2 in the top also. these are only short sheetmetal screws. You should then be able to extract the icemaker, a short hose attatched to the icemaker will come out of the back of the freezer. When complete the freezer/frig will work fine. Thaw out the icemaker, drain the water out, inspect the rotating finger grate area for any objects. Shaking it upside down may help. Reinstall & test, if it doesn't work it is bad. You can take it to an appliance repair store to replace.

Ice maker motor keeps freezing up

If you are talking about the icemaker and not the dispenser then the icemaker motor gear is probably broken. Depending on the model you may can replace the motor module or just get a new icemaker.

I have a PSS26 ge profile fridge and it quit making ice

The icemaker is bad . You have an electronic icemaker and the internal boards cannot take the freezing and the heat (freezing moisture) . Just replace the icemaker .

Ice shoot freezes up

If you use a lot of crushed ice , then it will freeze up . Also if it does not open completely or close completely , the plunger and solenoid for the dispensor flap could be rusted .

ICEMAKER LEAK ON GE TFX25VR

Either the inlet valve is stuck or the icemaker solenoid is shored.

Most likely the second one.

Replacing icemaker in GE GSH25JSTE side by side refrigerator.

generally its very easy. for your model it looks like the icemaker goes across the rear of the freezer section. if you will look on the left hand wall on the icemaker you will see a philips head screw remove this screw and pull the icemaker towards you and it will come out then unplug the wiring harness (this is probably the hardest part) there are 2 clips that keep the harness connected securley and you sometimes have to use a small blade screw driver to release them. onec icemaker is removed you have to remove the fill cup and the end stop off of the icemaker and reinstall on the new icemaker. one done just reinstall and turn it on. youre done!! BTW the new icemaker mostlikely will not have the green light the old one did so dont think youve got the wrong icemaker.. let me know if you need any further help Thanks Peyton
