Cleaning head on hp photosmart 7760 printer

I have lost the instruction book for my printer (above) and find that the print head needs cleaning and don't know how to go about doing so.  Every other line is blank and I do have new ink cartridges in the machine.

SOURCE: bad print heads

This is a continuing problem we have with our Fargo DTC550 printer. If you remove the printhead from the printer and look at the underside you will see a nick on the head in the same area you are getting a line on your card. Fargo claims we damaged the head due to not keeping the printer clean even though we clean at every ribbon change. I believe that the damage happens when a plastic debris (from the plastic card) gets between the card and the head. You must check your card stock to make sure there is no plastic debris on them. Bottom line, you have to replace the head and at the time it costs $700 per head.

SOURCE: Tiny white line through entire top length of card image??

I had the same exact problem. What you need to do is in printer/settings Advanced settings there's a calibrate option at the very bottom of the menu. This allows you to adjust the area that gets printed. adjust accordingly. -4 for the top vertical setting seems to work the best. I know that it seems like you should adjust up instead of down but that's just how it works. Play around with that setting and you should have nice results.

Hi Good day!!! Try to clean your print head

Please follow this step:

1. Turn on the computer and monitor. If using a Windows-based computer, click the "Start" button on the toolbar at the bottom of the monitor screen.

2. Move to "Settings," then "Control panel."

3. In "Control panel," look for "Printers and other hardware." Click on it. Inside this dialog box, you should now click on "Printers and faxes."

4. In the "Printers and faxes" dialog box, select the HP printer icon.

5. Using the right mouse button, click on the "HP printer" icon. At the bottom of the list, click on "Properties."

6. You should see seven tabs in this dialog box. To clean the printer heads, click on the "Services" tab. Under this tab, select "Align the printer cartridges" and "Clean the printer cartridges." For now, click on "Clean printer cartridges."

7. A new dialog box should appear, then click on the "Clean" button. The cleaning will now begin for the printer heads. This only takes about two minutes to complete. If you think your printer heads have not be cleaned well enough, do another test until the printer functions as it should.

8. Cleaning printer heads is something that should be done on a regular basis. Cleaning the printer heads will keep the printer from being ruined and causing unnecessary headaches.

Replace color cartridge

Access your printer properties and try preforming a print head or printer cartidge clean and on the machine try the print cartridge aligniment procedure.
If after you try both of those I suspect there is an issue with the print head.
If that is the case an ink jet printer is not worth repairing.

Color Cartridge Failure

You know, I'm not going to read the other solution. I know 100% FOR SURE, when a cartridge fails, it is dead and there is nothing you can do about it, but there is a good side. HP ink cartridges have a year warranty. Call them and tell them it failed, they'll send you a new one!

Poor photo printing

Have you manually cleaned the printheads. Bad clogs from different reasons sometimes cannot be removed by the printers own cleaning system. Use a good quality solution and thoroughly clean heads.
