Press FUNC. Menu, go down to L (Recording pixels) then goto the right to the thumb nail with the mountains (Postcard) It is 2 places to the right of the default settings M3.
When you select the postcard setting you can't use the digital zoom or digital tele-converter.

Note that date/time stamp only works in the lower resolution (1200 pixel width) "postcard" mode. Press Func set, then change the picture resolution to anything other than postcard. Try one of the higher resolutions, you might be pleased with the improvement in picture quality.

Sorry, don't know why Canon designed it this way, but it is only possible in "Postcard" resolution. This is true for all Canon models.

For those wishing to set their camera to include Date/Time stamp on the photos:
As mentioned, the date stamp only works in "Postcard" resolution. Press the "Func Set" button, then scroll down to the bottom to select postcard resolution.
Then press the menu button. Select the "Camera" menu, then scroll down to the the Date Time Stamp selection to turn it on.

I cannot get a date stamp in my pictures with my Canon power shot A560. I can't get the option to turn it on, it says date stamp off.

In order to get the date stamp on the pictures, the resolution/size has to be set to "Postcard". Look at the menu and you will see L, M1, M2, M3, S, and Postcard. Then you can turn on the date stamp option.
