You can try to move it to a wider place, if its in a close space place, try moving it where it has plenty of room. Do not have it in a cabinet or corner of of room.

I know and places that sells Xbox Accessories offer "360 Fans" that will blow cool air into the console. You may want to try one of those.

there are many different kind of "red rings"

If they are all red, it means that your av cable isnt being detected
if there are 3 red, its a hardware failure

My xbox360 it will not play xbox360 games

You will need to replace the sensors on the back of the DVD drive that have overheated and are now possibly ruined. The drive itself is not normally faulty.

My 360 has 3 rings the rings are red and it wont turn on

The three red lights mean that your XBOX360 is experiencing hardware failure. This is caused by overheating of your XBOX. Contact Microsoft and have them fix the problem. They have given free extended warranty for three red light problems. If you have bought your xbox360 within 3 years, you're in luck.. They will fix your console for free...

Showing 2 bars on my grandson xbox360

If you have the 2 red lights then you have the overheating problem, try giving it a dust and make sure it has enough ventilation and if this does not work you will need to send it in or use a good guide to fix it

My xbox360 has a problem the off & on buttin is blinking red

Two blinking lights mean the CPU is overheating. Three lights mean the GPU (Graphics Processing unit) is overheating, Four lights means the A/V cable isn't hooked up. It it is the three lights, and you have never opened the xbox case, contact Microsoft and they will fix it for free.

e74 refers to an error with either the GPU or your av cable

first try switching out av cables if that doesnt work then send it back to microsoft for repairs

if you want to try to fix it yourself try this

Since your AV cable is good, then it definately is your Scaler chip. The only way that you can fix this is if you take your xbox360 apart and resolder the GPU to the motherboard. Now theres about 50 different tutorials out there on how to take your case apart but I found that this tutorial is the best... its straight forward and includes pictures:

Okay, your xbox is apart. Next, your going to have to remove the x-clamps and GPU. Then you are going to have to resolder the GPU to the motherboard by overheating your GPU. llamma also has a really good write up on this as well. They also sell the tools that you will need, and the washers and bolts you will need.

Once you've resoldered your GPU, then you might want to consider installing a CPU fan on your outside case to prevent your xbox from overheating in the future. As of now, you cannot buy the new GPU heatsinks which have the heatpipe technology, so this is the best thing to do for the voided xbox's.

A new xbox360 it over heated and will not work now

To fix my overheating issue I bought myself an N-ter-Cooler that affixes to the back of my Xbox, giving it more fans and alleviating overheating issues.

Now if you're saying it will not turn on anymore after it overheated once, You should call Microsoft and see if its replaceable under warranty because if thats the case, your X-box is probably beyond repair.
