Question about Clarion Vx401 6.2" 2 Din Car Stereo Cd/dvd/am/fm/mp3 Receiver W/ Usb Bluetooth

Open Question

Clarion VX401 will not play mp4 or Div X files via USB stick.

Despite in the manual clearly stating that this player will play mp4 and Div X files straight off a USB memory stick... it doesn't. I have checked that the files are not protected by DRM. I have tried using 4 different memory sticks all with different storage capacities. Even tried to burn the same files onto a DVD to see if they would work that way but no result... Just says every time "unsupported file" Very frustrating... Any ideas?

It tells me i need a pass code and i don't have it how do i reset a code

This is most common when boosting a dead battery or changing the battery. Try unplugging the VX401 and let it sit overnight then in the morning reconnect it. If it asks for a code try 0000 and it should turn on. If you entered a code and forgot it the VX401 will need to be reprogrammed back to factory default. You will need to contact Clarion directly for information about where to send it for this service.

How to set the usb port on supersonic sc25 all region dvd player to play mp4 and mkv files

Check the user manual (find one online if you don't have the printed version). It will list the file types that the player can decode and play. If it does not specifically list mp4 or mkv files, you're out of luck. There's no way to add codecs to most DVD players.

Shows Error 2 however no error 2 listed in book

Error 2 on this set indicates that a DVD/CD is jammed inside the player and will not eject. If you can't eject it, you will probably have to open it up and remove the disc manually.

Error 2 when using a Memory Stick indicates that the stick is not supported.

According to the manual, some memory sticks are not supported.

Also, if you have more than 8 nested folder levels or 512 total folders, the stick will not work.

The Clarion will only play ACC, MP3 or WMA files. No DRM protected files can be played.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Will it play mp4 or wmv files?

Unless stated otherwise either on the unit itself or in the instruction manual, no. Those media formats may not be supported. The downside is I doubt your DVD player will play raw .MP4 .AVI or .WMV data files though. Those formats must be converted (using relevant transcoding software - for example, ConvertXtoDVD) to a compatible standard for DVD/Video CD (where applicable). The upside of this is that you may be able to play MP3 audio files on this unit with no extra conversion required.

Your player may not support DivX files either, unless stated otherwise on either the unit or in the manual.

Clarion DXZ385USB will not play from the usb input

It is not compatible. I had the same receiver and mp3 player. according to the Clarion website, an "ERROR 5" is the message for a compatibility problem. You probably got an "ERROR 2"(format problem) when you had the player plugged in and then cycled through the sources(that's how I received the error).

I have since bought an Ipod and the USB input works just fine. Clarion says the deck is MTP compatible, but it will not run a lot of MTP devices. Only Ipods and certain memory sticks. The Creative Zen Vision M is read as an MTP device when it it plugged into anything like a computer, Xbox 360, and the Clarion USB receivers. The Clarion units even attempt to read it as an MPT device, but will not play. It is not an issue with the receiver or the MP3 files. The Creative Vision M is not a compatible device, sorry.
