Question about Televison & Video
I've tried to see if its on auto sleep but the screen isn't just coming up. though the power indicator is on (the red light), the screen still refuses to display even after I press the power button on the remote control.
Sounds like its not receiving a Signal, I would try changing your source (VIDEO) cable and trouble shoot the source itself, whats pushing the LG? If its a cable box I would unplug it for about a minute and plug it back in. Test your connection on a dvd or computer to see if it will get an image from another source if it does then the problem lies with your cable company and the box need to be fixed or replaced.... LGs are durable TVS Its very rare that I have to actually go on site to fix one its normally done over the phone because the problem is usally the source not the TV>

The main board has become faulty. The logic in the TV is bad that is causing the TV to have such problems. The only way to fix is to replace the main board.

There are two places to look for the problems, the backlight inverter board and the power supply. Look at the power supply first since it is easier to get to, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc.
Please post back what you find.

SOURCE: Plasma Television won't turn on
A common problem for these is bad capacitors in the power supply, Remove the back from your Tv and look at the power supply on the left hand side.
You will see roughly around 9 x capacitors that are bulged / domed shaped on top usually these are valued at 3300uf 10V any that have bulged or leaked a brown like substance should be changed.
This will cure the problem as they overheat being sat next to a heatsink that gets very hot!
Try and change them for the same 3300uf but a higher voltage.
if otherwise the power supply board is faulty you can try websites Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish power supply board for the replacement.
Hope this helps

SOURCE: Tv turns off by itself
I had a similar problem with my Phillips 42 in. LCD HD TV.
Here's the problem. The Power Supply Board. I opened my TV up(warranty was up of course) and found several bad capacitors. Phillips and several other companies were sold capacitors that although were highly rated failed within 5 years because of a lack of preservatives. All sorts of electronic equipment is now being effected due to these defective capacitors.
1. Take it in and have it fixed
2. Open it up, check the board for faulty capacitors(bulged or leaking) Buy a new Power supply board and install it.
3. Remove PSB, remove faulty capacitors and replace with compatible new ones.
Hope this helps
