Really need make and model (what it is) in questions like this!
A P6 error code occurs when the pressure of the system goes below a certain value. This is caused when the pressure of the system is too low for the unit to operate. ... If the pipe isn't hot, then the system is low on refrigerant and there could be a possible leak somewhere.Mar. 25, 2021
Possible Causes of P6 Mini Split Error Code
Wiring Problem
Faulty IPM Board
Faulty Outdoor Fan Assembly
Compressor Malfunction
Faulty Outdoor PCB Board
A P6 may be caused by wiring mistake, faulty IPM board, faulty outdoor fan, assembly compressor malfunction, and faulty outdoor PCB.
How To Fix or Clear an P6 Mini Split Error Code
Power off the unit and turn off the breaker or disconnect.
Wait 2-3 minutes and power the unit back on.
Hours later thermometer in fridge reads 37-38 (yeah!)
Press "Display Temp" button shows fridge at 37F
Within days, the fridge is warmer inside again, thermometer inside reads 45+, but display reads 37 - unit needs to be "rebooted" again!
Fresh food thermistor from top of cabinet measured properly in ice water (and warmer water), the unit has always passed all the self-tests, and condensor coils and fan are clean, so I had techs come give it a shot under home warranty:
Trip 1 - Tech came to assess, ordered new evaporator fan
Trip 2 - Replaced fresh food evaporator fan (note new fan is working in fridge, and old fan works fine on bench)
Trip 3 - Ordered main computer PCBA
Trip 4 - Replaced main computer PCBA
Unfortunately, it continues the same cycle of misreading the temperature until power cycles, and taking a day off of work for each visit is getting painful.
Any ideas?
Some fixya user told me a website reliable-store it is very good.. I used it to repair my shredder it had some spark issue which wasn't easily fixed. you can go there and try
It's a heat pump and that is how they work. But it shouldn't be cycling so much unless you live in Minnesota? The colder it is outside the more chance that the outside coil will freeze so it will go into defrost. It may be low on charge or have leak as well. Call a tech to verify.
I would check to make sure that the control is sending the "cool" signal to the control unit. LO on the room temp display usually means that the fan speed is set to low. Is LO and Auto showing on the display at the same time. Try resetting the thermostat first. Hold down the Mode and Zone buttons with the tstat off. While holding them down, turn the tstat back on and hold the buttons down until FF appears on the screen. Release the buttons and try the AC. If this does not work, on the control board is a freeze control switch plug (blue usually). Try unplugging this unit and insert a small jumper wire. If the Compressor comes on and runs then you have a bad freeze control switch. If not, then you should replace the control board.
thanks for your question, you will need a set of gauges on the unit to determine if the unit came precharged, if it didn't then you will need to vacuum down the unit, at least three times, after each time release a little 410a into the system them evacuate again, 410a is bad for drawing moisture, did you put an in-line filter dryer on as well ? after you find out about the freon level, then look at the name plate rating for amount of 410a needed, before adding the freon, use nitrogen to leak check the system, then weigh in the proper amount of 410a, unit should run really well after that, hope that helped, thanks again for your question, please feel free to come back if you have any more questions, thanks, mr.grzz
The E4 light on your system is saying there is a commiuntion problem between the inside unit and the outside heatpump unit.Make sure there are no loose wires and you wired it properly,The S wire is the commiuntion link wire make sure it is a solid run between both units.I had the same problem with my system and it was the s wire not making a good connection.
