A lot of work, if the TV does not have a choice of frequencies ( most do these days), you would need to replace the tuner and possibly make changes around the IF stage, my suggestion, outside of replacing the set, is to look for a model sold there similar to yours, it used to be that the last letter or two of the mdel number signifies the country or region.if you can find the same model in the Philipines I suggest you get the service manual and replace all the components on the IF and Tuner to that of the manual specifications....I have done this many times when TV's were expensive, but these days it's better to just use it as a monitor and attach a VCR or pay TV box for the tuner. AKIRA LED TV PURCHASE FROM SINGAPORE BRING TO PHILIPPINES BUT CANT RECIEVE SIGNAL ON TV EVEN AFTER INSTALLING ANTENA

The television standard in Singapore in the PAL B format, while the Philippines uses the NTSC M format. That said, some sets can go both ways, but you must find the setting in the menu and change it. Chances are that since the set was shipped for sale in Singapore, it is set on the PAL B and would not work on your television standard.

How can get a channel for a kogan tv from australia brought to philippines?

You might not be able to do this. Broadcast TV signaling standards vary by the region in which they are from; there are a few. NTSC and PAL. If your TV signal amplifier system is for NTSC broadcast standards but your incoming signal is from a PAL standard or vice versa; you will not able to view that channel. Refer to your manual for what TV broadcast system it is compatible with. Some TV's system setting can be changed.

My tv has NTSC system but our local transmission is pal system. so picture is black & white and has no audio

hi,

It seems you are going to have to buy a PAL to NTSC converter box, check out the following info i got from eHow.

NTSC, or National Television System Committee, is the system used to broadcast television that is still analog in North and South America and parts of Asia. PAL, or Phase Alternate Line, is one of the other two analog broadcast systems used in much of the rest of the world. If you are in an area that can pick up both, but your television is made to receive only one of them, you can buy an PAL-to-NTSC converter that will allow the correct input to your TV.

Purchase a PAL-NTSC converter. Most mid-range converters will convert back and forth between either system, so if you're not sure which system your television picks up, you can buy one of the dual converters. See the References section for an example of a mid-range converter. When you purchase, choose either 110V or 220V power source, and which country you are ordering from (you will need the appropriate power cord adapter for your country).

Plug the included connector cord from the "Input" (or possibly "Antennae") jack on the back of your television to the "Output" on the converter. Also, plug the power adapter into a floor jack or other power supply.

Move the Input switch to PAL and the Output switch to NTSC on the converter if it is a dual converter. This will enable you to receive PAL TV signals and convert them for your NTSC TV.

Yes, converters are available for possible different formats (PAL-NTSC) etc and also for different line voltages if it is needed--

Google is you best way to begin--search PAL-NTSC or what ever is needed for the signal ...........

I tried connecting my samsung dvd it has ntsc settings when i set it that it work very fine but when the dvd to pal it show black & white why

If you don't know what PAL and NTSC signals are I would do some reading. It will explain what is happening. You can't use a ntsc device and set it to PAL. It doesn't work like that.

How to convert the my jvc dvd player to ntsc to pal or vise versa, coz i used old tv so i need to change it . tnx my jvc model is xv-tha30 dvd cinema system

You have to use an external device to convert NTSC to PAL or vis versa. The device cost between 175 to 250 $. I think you can buy a small new generation multi system TV for that price !!!!.
If you still want to buy click on the below link.

I have a avol tv from germany, i am in the US and tried to hook up tyhe tv. Everything works except it is in black and white and fuzzy. ive tried messing with the settings but nothing is working. Do i need...

aoconnor733,
It looks like you've run into a problem with the way TV signals are formatted around the world.
Unfortunately there isn't just one standard, but three!
Even worse, the standard used in the US is not the same as the one used in Germany and they're not compatible.
However all is not lost as NTSC-to-PAL and PAL-to-NTSC converters do exist. You're probably best advised to visit your local electronics retailer (Best Buy or equivalent) and ask them to help you find something that's most appropriate for your audio-visual (AV) set-up.
Failing that, type "NTSC PAL Converter" into Google Shopper and see what it suggests.
Kind regards,
Talyene
P.S. If you're interested, you can learn about the different standards by clicking the links below.

I have connected cable (in India Tata Sky) to my Sony Bravia kdl-40V2500 (bought from USA). But I am able to see the picture all black and white and not color. I need to know how can i fix this.

Hello

Bravia KDL series are for use in US and its reception system is differnt to that of in India. Your TV can only accept signals of NTSC and ATSC. These are the statds of transmission used in US. In India, all transmisssion and recordigs standards ar of PAL. Your TV won't accept PAL system signals properly. Theese systems mentioned above anr the colour transmitting standards. You have to choose a multisystem compatable TV from there in US. There is no hopt for you to get PAL type transmission signals to recive with your tV. It can play NTSC recoreded dvds or Blu-rays or Video casette tapws, whatever it may be, properly. There is no chance to get it converted to a multisystem, or even for a PAL system converstion with your TV. The colour informatin will not be processed properly. OK.

Hy does a colored tv record in black and white on

I suspect that you have the video standard is incorrect. Ensure you are recording in the same format as the signal you recieve. IE: NTSC or PAL. Whatever but they should both be the same. IE: Signal recieved = NTSC Video recorder must be set NTSC as well. Same goes for PAL.

Convert ntsc to pal for sony bravia tv

While a modern PAL TV can display NTSC sources (namely DVD players and PAL VHS players that support pseudo-NTSC), an NTSC TV can not display a PAL source, unless it's an expensive multi-standard TV. Sorry pal, bad choice.
