Won't heat up above 200 degrees.

Try turning off the valve to the tank, then leave the knobs on the grill open for 2-3 minutes. Turn off the grill knobs, slowly, slowly open the valve on the tank. Relight the grill and see if it gets hot.

No gas on one side

More than likely, the burner needs to be removed and cleaned. As it sounds like the Venturi Valve, which is part of the burner is clogged. Spiders like to build nest in them.

To assist you further, I have included a link to the Owners Manual for your model. To understand how to properly remove the burners, pay particular attention to the Maintenance section on page # 29.

The Flame is yellow is there an adjustment

Yes there is an adjustment on the air shutter control valve. Which is part of the burner system. It will look like the blades on a fan. It should be set at 3/4's of the way open. But, before you jump on that, yellow flames are also an indication that you're running out of gas or the venturi valves on the burner are clogged. Spiders love to build nest in them.. So check you tank.and the Venturi Valves first.

To assist you further, I have provided a link to the Owner's Manual for the new P3 Series grill. It is almost identical to yours, unless you have the new model. In which case it will be identical.

Is there an online video or written instructions about how to replace a burner on a Broilmaster D4 grill

Unfortunately, the D4 series grill hasn't been around since Martin Industries went bankrupt 8 years ago and Empire Comfort Systems to over Broilmaster. However, today's 'P' or Premium Series is the closest to the old D4 series, as far as burners and burner installation and removal is concerned.

I have included a link to the Owners Manual, which shows how to assemble the grill and install the burner(s). Just do the burner installation in reverse. You can download and print the manual for future reference.

Broilmaster P3 series (purchased circa 2001). Just replaced burner, ignitor and converted from Propane to Natural. Fired the thing up and it appears to flame (difficult to see), but it just won't warm...

If you didn't change the burner orifices to Natural Gas orifices, that's the problem. Even after those are changed (assuming you didn't) the grill will take a bit longer to preheat. As Propane burns cleaner and hotter than Natural Gas, in an outdoor environment.

Hope this helped answer and solve the problem for you.

Knobs melt if both burners are set to high for more than 20 minutes in the summer.

Hello,
Well, short of turning the burners down, so they are not on high, you might try wrapping the knobs in aluminum foil to prevent them from melting from the heat. But be careful, they may be hot to the touch, so where oven mitts or use a hand towel to turn it off. If they are melting, you may have some burner issues that need cleaning or replacing. If the grill is several years old, and it only recently has started doing this, then it's time to repair or replace the grill, if not for safety's sake. Hope that helps. Douglas

Just bought a new propane tank and attached it. When I turn the knob to ignite the grill, no gas is coming through the line. How can I fix this?

Turn tank off and disconnect coupling. Re-attach coupling and turn gas tank on very slowly. Check for leaks with soapy water. If no leaks, you should be all set start grilling.
