Question about Panasonic 50 TCP50GT30 50 3D Plasma TV
I have a Panasonic Viera TC-P50GT30 and the other day the power went out and when the power came back on the TV had 7 blinking lights on the front, but no picture on the tv. I did some research and took off the back panel to see if the problem was the SC board. I unplugged the power harness and the wire ribbon to the SC board gave the tv power and now I get 8 blinking lights. Ive read that if I get 6 blinking lights then its the SC, SU, or SD boards, but 8 blinking lights im not too sure. any help is appreciated.

SOURCE: TV Won't Turn On
I purchased the TV using AMX card 18 month ago. They have an extended 1 year warranty on top of manufactory's. I just have this set repaired: replaced SD board, total charge is $550. I already file a claim and hope to get reimbursed soon.

10 blinks error code is definitely due to a malfunctioning A-board. Since you have already replaced it, the only possibilities are
1)Either you have obtained a malfunctioning replacement OR
2)You did not get the correct revision version. Not that the same model number of the tv can use different sets of parts. That is why it is always recommended to order by part number. I have had a customer recently who had a similar problem and it turned out to be incorrect version of the replacement board. So check the part number of the replacement and the original . Also compare the revision versions of both and see if everything matches. Please let me know what you found.

SOURCE: I have a Panasonic Viera
A common problem for these is bad capacitors in the power supply, Remove the back from your Tv and look at the power supply on the left hand side.
You will see roughly around 9 x capacitors that are bulged / domed shaped on top usually these are valued at 3300uf 10V any that have bulged or leaked a brown like substance should be changed.
This will cure the problem as they overheat being sat next to a heatsink that gets very hot!
Try and change them for the same 3300uf but a higher voltage.
Hope this helps in solving the problem...

I have not repaired this model. My first thought are bad capacitors in the power supply board. If you do have the exact board to replace. I would certainly do so. Numbers check and you say they are the exact same, should be an easy fix. If this board came out of another TV of the same model, you must remember, it will have the same longevity as the board that does not work. I would compare the boards, and look for bad capacitors on the board that does not work of course. You may check the capacitors with an ESR meter (about 50 to 75 bucks). The purchase and price of one of these will pay for itself. You can fix other electronics. Thanks for asking Alan. I'll be here if you have more questions.
