Question about Sony DSR-45 Mini DV VCR
Any idea what C3140 error code means?
C:31:40 is "FG fault when starting drum." In plain terms, the video head assembly is not producing a feedback signal that tells the control circuitry that the heads are spinning. Most probable cause is a bad drum assembly, but check to make sure the flex cable going to the drum is properly seated.

This will even happen if ur Upper cassette compartment is not properly loading. Coz sensor will force the Tape Guide. n the tension of ur tape will so strong.the drum will not rotated n tape will be ejected by it self.My advice is check the tape loader compartment, and tape tension and Drum hour .Clean the tape part and head drum.
