Question about Dryers
Flame come on and then shuts of within 10 seconds will not come back on for about 3 minutes help
IF that is a model with spark sensor I would try cleaning the igniter with sand paper. Some gas appliances use a spark/sensor. It lights the fire then senses the flame and sends back confirmation to the brain. Hard to say without model number. Just guessing by you symptoms given. LOL

Hello Friend, Your solution is simple. It sounds like your dryer is working properly, and your actual problem is a blockage somewhere in your 4 inch exhaust tubing. Check it and make sure it is not clogged up with excessive lint. Also if your tubing is clear you need to check your connection where it travels thru the wall etc. It would be a good idea to find the actual location where it exits to the ouside and check for good airflow. Your dryer is equiped with a safety thermistat and if you are not getting the proper exhaust flow the burner will cut off and restart in the manner that your's is doing. I Hope I have helped you, Tim. And please don't forget to give me your rating for my help.

AFTER THE BURNER SHUTS DOWN THE 1ST TIME IT SHOULD COME BACK ON WITHIN 1 TO 3 MINUTES. WHEN THE BURNER TRIES TO COME BACK ON YOU'LL HEAR A CLICK AND THE GLOW OF THE IGNITOR SHOULD BE VISIBLE. AFTER 30 TO 60 SECONDS IGNITOR SHOULD FADE AND THE BURNER SHOULD FIRE. IF IGNITOR FADES AND BURNER DOES NOT FIRE YOU WILL NEED TO REPLACE BURNER COILS #279834. IF IGNITOR DOES NOT COME ON YOU WILL HAVE A T STAT OR SENSOR ISSUE. SOUNDS LIKE COILS TO ME. HOPE THIS HELPS PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTAT ME HUBAPPLIANCE@COMCAST.NET. PLEASE RATE MY RESPONSE.

The valve on the pilot may need to be replaced. The springs get worn and wont stay up. Otherwise you could replace the entire pilot unit with a kit.

The 'radiant sensor/ needs to be replaced. This sensor tells the system that the flame is lit and everything is good. Go to repairclinic.com

The chamber is most likely over heating and tripping off the gas valve which is doing what it's suppose to. If the exhaust duct or vent damper outside is plugged up with lint it will cause this problem. Try disassembling the complete exhaust vent & vacuum it out.
