my blackberry storm died. When i attempted to charge it the screen remained black but the red light keeps blinking. how can i fix my phone?

Well this could be due to a dead battery even though your battery says its full its really not putting out enough amps to turn on the unit replacing the battery fixes 99 percent of these issues.

Have you tried pulling the battery? Often times my Storm has locked up and nothing worked. The only way to really do a restart, is by pulling the battery.
-Take the battery out and wait 1 minute. -Replace the blackberry and wait for Operating System to startup -Test
If this doesnt fix the problem, you may have a problem unit and you should take it in to the Verizon Wireless store.

what you need to try to do is reinstall the blackberry OS (operating system) on your device.
Assuming you have Verizon
First install Blackberry desktop manager it should be in the CD that came with the phone.

then download the OS software for your phone <a href="http://vzw.smithmicro.com/blackberry/download.aspx?ct=personal">HERE</a>
Connect your phone to your computer and start Desktop manager.
click on application loader, on update software click start, click ok on USB pin selection.
when you get to the device backup and restore options, click settings and make sure backup options box is unchecked and device data boxes are both checked, click ok, click next, skip the email signup stuffs,and finish.
After the software is installed the phone should boot back up.
