SOURCE: jvm 1650 burned one of the mounting brackets

The mounting brackets don't have electricity in them, it has to be an internal short in the oven. It should be taken down and opened up to determine what happened. If the damage is too severe the oven probably would have to be replaced. I would take it to a repair center and get it diagnosed and see if it is something simple that won't cost a lot of money.

Chances are only an identical model will fit the brackets. Any new unit will come with new brackets. Just swap the brackets out and install the new unit

My microwave want work unless I hold the door shut. What parts would I need to replace?

You will likely need interlock switches and the brackets to hold them. Brackets are usually made of plastic and can crack. The switches can sometimes fail where they require more force to make a connection. Remember to unplug the power and discharge the capacitor before working on any microwave.

Having difficulty getting old spacemaker oven out in order to install new.

There are two screws coming into the top front accessed inside the cabinet it is mounted to. the rear of the unit is hung on clips on the bracket screwed to the wall behind it. Take out the two screws ( sometimes hidden under paint or shelf liner) and have someone hold the front up. Then push up on the whole oven and pull it out towards you. ( get help it is kind of heavy). dont forget to unplug it, and feed the cord down as you pull the microwave out. sometimes you have to pull hard, as the pins on the bracket get bent during installation.

My frigidaire microwave door is sagging and is about to fall off

EASY get a machine screw, nut with washer. I believe I used a 1/8" machine screw.....(find something small to fit in the hole on the bottom hinge.

First step, take 3 screws off bottom to expose hinge area. Have someone hold it or support it so wires to the light do not pull out,.

Pop the machine screw through the front and then with your fingers get the washer an nut and tighten down.
If you want the professsional look. Paint the machine screw white first with a enamel white paint.

Over the range microwave

you remove the three screws at the top that hold the black plastic grill, then you will see two flat-bladed screw heads, when you turn those, they unlock. Be careful, it's heavy! You bring it down then lift from the back.

Sparking fire inside the microwave - Knemore Model No. 721.80522500

If the sparking has stopped, that should be fine.

If you have a burned spot you may need to sand it and repaint it with appliance paint from Wal-Mart, etc.

You can probably replace the shelf bracket / hook if it's still available.

If you'll post your brand and model, we'll see if we can steer you toward a source for a new shelf bracket.

If it's a Kenmore, you can probably find an exploded view by entering your FULL model number here: http://www3.sears.com (the 3 is correct)

We're happy to help and we appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.
