Question about Computers & Internet

When my toshiba satellite a135s4527 is running on battery only it will shut down without any problem. If I shut it down with it plugged in it restarts itself every time. I bought a new cord as suggest by circuit city but it didn't fix the problem.

Okay, starting with the computer on, I held the power button down for 3 minutes. Afterwards I pressed the power button to turn the computer back on. When it was up and running I took the battery out and tried to shut down, so far nothing, it started up just like before. Any other ideas?

Toshiba Satellite a135s4527. When using the battery only I can shut down my computer no problem. When it is plugged in and I shut it down, it restarts every time. Circuit city recommended a new power cord. It did not fix the problem.

Yes, it is always plugged in and the battery level is at 100%. I have had this problem of the computer turning itself back on after shutdown for probably 8 or 9 months. I just discovered today that it will turn off when unplugged and running on only the battery. If it is plugged in it turns back on every time. I bought a new power cord and still same problem. Got any more ideas?

Could be a number of things. Is it plugged in (charging) or are you running from the battery only?

On my Toshiba, it's very picky about the battery power level, and will do that if it's low, and not plugged in.

Try plugging it in, and letting it sit for an hour or two.

    1. Go get cd with drivers/utilities and reinstall.
    2. Go online and get updated driver set, select power manangement option.
    3.
Batteries, MUST be exercised at least once a month, in full up/down
discharge sequence, otherwise, you wind up with the equivalent of a
float charge, which won't do much good.
    4. When the 'new' battery
was installed, did it have a full charge? If not, then the 'blinker'
might just be accurate(seems manual will tell you what blinking
    conditions means).
    5. Final suggestion. Go to power profile, and
compare the charge condition of both batteries. Should be quite
different, due to age(rechargeables have a typical life of 3 years,
assuming that the heat doesn't get em first).

here could be a problem with the laptop power jack.
If you know how to take apart your laptop and have some soldering skills, you can resolder or replace the power jack yourself.
Here are step-by-step instructions for replacing failed laptop power jack.

    Try to do fixboot.

Boot your computer from the installation disk,Enter in to the Recovery console by pressing

"R" when prompted>type the administrator password if any or in most of the cases its Blank

so just press Enter>on command prompt type,-"fixboot">restart windows normally once done.

if "fixboot" doesn't work, follow the above steps and try "fixmbr" this time, now should be

    working fine..

plz let me know if this solves your problem.

Main reason i computer being occupied by active applications those
are running in background (discreetly). You can reduce the quantity of
startup items by using MSCONFIG utility. Also you can change the
performance settings. (You can choose best performance instead of best
appearence). Some features of the operating system can be stopped to
increase the performance. For example turning of system restore option
sometimes increases the performance 10-15%. Also performing periodical
(weekly recommended) instant maintenance by using disk clean up tool.

Okie, this does not seem to be a problem with the chord or the battery. While having the chord plugged in please forcefully keep the power button pressed for at least 2 to 3 minutes. I am sure you would see it shut down and the laptop would not get restart. If you press the button for some seconds and leave it it would restart. Also donot press the power button twice which is bringing up the laptop again.

Remove the battery and then have it plugged in and then try to shut it down. If it works fine the for sure its a battery problem.

Thank You

First double check your charger is 19V (at 3.42A minimum) on the body label. It could also be providing a faulty voltage so you need to check its output with a cheap voltmeter (should be 19 to say 22 volts off load), OR borrow a 19 v charger from someone which has same connector to see if it works on your laptop. Good Luck.

My toshiba laptop keeps shutting down only when plugged in to the a/c i have a 305-6853. no overheating works fine if running of the battery alone

This is most likely issue with power cord or on the laptop where you plug it in. Try to separate the cord at adapter and just plug it in without being pluged in to power and see does it create short and shut down your laptop and if not it is possible it is not sending right voltage to the laptop it self. Try a different cord if you have one. Good luck

Check if the PC still shuts down. If it is, try to connect the power cable without the battery. If it turns on, call your pc manufacturer to replace the battery....

Ok when this happens it takes a considerable time for the battery to recover, you should plug in the adapter and leave it for at least overnight without using it, hopefully then after that the battery will be charged. This is very common.

How old is the battery? Most laptops and notebooks only have a 3 year battery life, and if you have run it down too far, or never ran it down at all, the life can be even shorter than that. With nicad they say it is best to use them until they stop working. But lithium batteries are best kept topped up I hear. If the batter is over 2 years old, time to replace I think.

How to replace cooling fan on toshiba satellite A135S4527 can I replace just the fan or does anything else need to be replaced with it?

if your computer is overheated this does not signify that it is necessary to change cooler, often can be that it is enough to clean radiator from dust. But if you sure of change cooler , that you need will be heat-conducting lubrificant.

Toshiba Satellite 2410-PS241L laptop does not start.

Plug it into the electrical outlet and then turn on your laptop. if it comes on and works fine, then your battery is just simply dead, and if it will charge, just needs to charge. If not, then you are going to have to replace your battery. But assuming all of this is true, and your laptop will power on when using your electrical outlet, then yes, feel free to use it whenver you like when plugged in.
