My lexmark 5650 doesn't scan accurately. It crops

- When I first noticed the problem, I was trying to scan a very small piece of paper. It cropped off the edges. I tried sticking it to a regular 8x11 paper, but it still wouldn't do it. I gave up.
Next I was trying to scan a full 8x11 page, and it did the same thing. Just decided on it's own that I didn't need the whole paper scanned or something. I tried adjust the paper settings to elliminate margins, so it did that, but that wasn't what I wanted either. I tried the fax tray next, and it does the same thing. Now it is giving me the b*s* that it can't download the application list. That always took a long time to begin with. This printer really sucks!
the usb's at the back don't work. The memory card slots don't let me view my pics on the computer before wanting to print them.
This is a fairly new computer, however I had it sitting around in the box for over a month before even trying it, so I don't think I'll be able to return it.
