Question about Schwinn Exercise & Fitness

Open Question

Schwinn 835p trips the breaker constantly for faster speeds and heavier runners. The motor was replaced but the problem continues. Ok for walking for anyone and running only for lighter people.

Service tech came to fix the machine under warranty, but it made no difference.

SOURCE: Dishwasher tripping the circuit breaker

Andy, leave the breaker off and remove the toe panel (bottom panel) from the dishwasher. Remove the cover of the junction box where the cord connection or wiring is made. Look at the wire caps and see if they are not burnt. Sometimes these connections become loose and arch, tripping the breaker. If so, cut the wires, strip a new end and reconnect. Viking DFB450 Tripping breaker in pots and Pans, normal, econo, cycle after prewash drains and fill. Heater or pump/motor bad? Does the pump have 2 speeds?

Dave,

You may have a bad breaker. Have you tried replacing the breaker? I would not think you heating element was bad unless it didn't heat up. If the pump works at all then the pump should be ok. If it does not work and you have power going to the pump motor then it may be causing a phase to ground resulting in the tripped breaker.

Precor 9,31 treadmill tripping internal breaker

You may want to check how many outlets or other items that you have on the breaker. When those treadmills go faster, they draw a lot of amperage. Not much that you can do except for unplugging what you aren't using on that circuit until you are done. If you run an extension cord to another circuit, that draws even more amperage or hire an electrician to install a larger breaker for you.

Tripping breaker that is built in to treadmill

you must isolate the problem. See if there some loose cable or touching with chassis. 3) test the input terminal motor for to see if there are faulty 4) test the output terminal in the control board, for to determine if are faulty. 5) filter capacitor can be shorte 6) power supply shorted.

The problem is the starter capacitor on the back or top of motor depending on make. The capacitor is round and black and about 3 inches long and the diameter of a half dollar. it will have 4 wires with quick disconnects on them, unplug and replace capacitor and put wires back on the same way they came off old one. as far as the noise, the bearings are starting to wear and can be replaced when you get tired of the noise. you will have to take it in to have the bearings replaced.

I have a Amana PTAC model PTC123A50AC never had any problems until this a.m. walked into office were installed no heat. Breaker tripped, reset breaker, nothing. Checked outlet, getting power. Any idea's?

To all friends! Whenever you find breaker tripped or fuse blown, it's an indication some device/s are in problem.
To get tripped breaker:
1. Condenser too dusty- clean it.2. Fan motor or compressor grounded-Replace. 3. Compressor high amps due to capacitor weak-replace capacitor. 4. Burnt wire-rectify. 5.Short circuit-rectify.

New balance 2500 treadmill shows e1 code and keeps tripping the circuit breaker after calibration.speed sensor, magnet and fuse were all checked

The motor controller weakens over time because of the excessive amperage draw of the motor do to lack of lubrication (which wears the walk belt and walking deck).

Take an amperage reading of the motor it should be 2-3 amps with no one on it, with someone walking on it it should be around 6-12 amps. I would bet yours is elevated above 6-12 amps. The controller is dropping output because of the friction problem.

The first thing to try after testing the amperage is to lubricate the walking platform. Then retest and see if the amperage comes down and it doesn't shut off.

If it does then the next step would be to replace the walking deck. If the amperage still is up you may need to replace the walk belt second and finally if after replacing the deck and belt, if the unit is still shutting down replace the motor controller.

Proform 490gs treadmill works for about 5 minutes, then turns off. Fuse reset button on bottom will reset motor after a few minutes. Unit is plugged directly into wall outlet with no obstructions in the...

As the walking belt wears, it creates more friction with the deck which creates more heat in the belt causing it to wear further. Additionally, the increased friction requires the motor to work harder to keep the belt moving at the same speed. With this in mind, it causes the motor to draw more electricity and therefore, more power to move the belt. The motor has to get rid of this excess energy in some way so the way it normally does it is by releasing it in heat so that's why treadmills with belt problems typically overheat the motor too.
All of this to say that if the breaker starts tripping, you know that the belt is causing the motor to pull too many amps and the safety system is working as it should. If the breaker has tripped more than a few times, it will need to be replaced because the breaker weakens every time it trips. Additionally, the walking belt will need to be lubricated at a minimum and if you want to be very aggressive toward the symptoms, replace the walking belt. Silicone lubes, like water-based liquid silicone require relubing once every 30 days. Go to E Bay and you will see the different types and prices they will all do the the job. I would go down to the Hard ware store and purchase a 4 or 5 dollar can of silicone lift the one side of the belt and spray the length of the belt 3 applications on each side should to tell you if has taken care of the problem if not the belt and deck will need replacing.

Motor runs at low speed and trips breaker within 10 seconds

The motor is bad. It overheats inside and the contacts aren't releasing and this trips the breaker to prevent more damage, You can reset it because it had time to cool down and the contacts have released.
