If its not electric it should have a screw and mounting plate that goes on the back of the board in the middle not top should have a mark on it. but there should have had 3 plastic stopper looking pieces that go on the outside edges on the back and what you do is adjust the screw until the board fits snug to the wall

Can a dart board dry out over time, or not?

No, it is very unlikely that a dartboard should dry out at all. If left in the rain or outside, it might fade and deteriorate, but it won't dry out. In the early 1900's dartboards were made from wood, which did dry out. But modern dartboards are made from fibers that prevent this from happening. Reference:

When the dart hits it momentarily shows the score and then deletes the score with a verbal "miss".

Buy a dartboard that has no electronics. On these devices the dart stays in the place it arrives at and you can read the numbers on the board to see what the score is. This is far cheaper than repairing or replacing your electronic dartboard.

How to choose the right dart tip?

Steel tip darts are mostly used with bristledartboards. Steel tip darts have a very sharp steel point to stick in the fiberof a bristle board. Soft tip darts are mostly used with electronic dart boards.Soft tip darts have a flexible, plastic tip on the end to easily lodge into theholes on electronic dartboards. I prefer the soft tip because it's usuallylighter than steel tip darts.

Where can I buy an electronic dartboard online?

This depends greatly on what features you want in your dartboard. If you like playing a certain game of darts then you need to ensure that the board your buying has that game built in as one of the options. I have a few sites for you; nevertheless I strongly advise you do some shopping around of your own.
