It sounds like you may have unshielded patch cable (rca cables) or they may be coming loose from either the head unit or at the amp which could cause the same thing and it may also have a cut in the cables but in my opinion it has to be the head unit or the patch cables cause there shouldnt be anything else in your car that would cause that phenomenon. more than likely the cables are loose at the head unit in my opinion if you have another amp available to you i would try it and see if it reoccurs if it does and most likely will you need to take out the unit and if the cables are completely in you could have 2v preouts which sometimes in conjunction with other factors seems to cause also

sorry i couldnt just tell u whats wrong

HI my name is simon from zambia,i'v had this problem for quite a while now,my subwoofer keeps making this funny rumbling irritating sound what should I do about it? Please help.

If your subwoofer is self-powered, turn down its volume control. Also, the rumbling can be caused by placement near objects that inturn can vibrate. Sup woofers are non diretional and therefore easily relocated. Also, try placing the subwoofer unit on a piece of carpet. This will stop any vibration picked up by the floor.

No sound from my Yamaha YST-SW315 subwoofer. When I run the test speakers don't have sound either. Not sure if its the subwoofer or the Yamaha RX-V450 receiver

Feed it with an RCA cable any other audio device you may have (CD, TV, MP3 player, PC) to prove it can or can not woof. It will respond to any audio, not just LFE or subwoofer audio.

When no music is on the subwoofer makes low rumble sound

It's passing "engine noise" at 80hz and below. If you turn off the crossover on the amp, it will be unbelieveably loud. Check your RCA connections at the deck and at the amp. Then make sure your ground wire to the amp is solid and not oxidized. Check your battery terminal as well. Make sure your ground wire is the same gague as the power, and that it's grounded to the floor, not a seat bolt or side panel, as they are very poor grounds. Hope this helps. If you still have an issue, post a comment and I can help some more.

Not satisfy with the sound of my system

This Unit has got a 4x60w amp built in.

On it's own the subwoofer will not work, you need to buy a Monoblock amplifier, a wiring kit and a set of RCA leads to run it.

The RCA leads plug into the SUB output RCA sockets on the back of the headunit.

The OEM speakers in your car will not be of great quality, so it would be wise to change them. If you do, you need to buy speakers that have a rating of no less than 90watts, any thing less and they will sound distorted.

Any car audio shop will be able to help you select the right size and rating to suit your car. They may even fit it all for a charge.

Hope this helps

Subwoofer shutdown

I'm having the same issue as pdoug: Sub rumbles in test mode, doesn't produce sound otherwise. Which makes me suspect it's the receiver itself -- the filter (or whatever) it is that should be separating the bass signal and sending it to the sub is not working. At least that's my guess.

Either way... this sucks.
