Question about Mitsubishi WD-62525 62" Rear Projection HDTV

62' Mitsubishi WD-62525 little black and white squares instead of picture but I have sound

I was watching my T.V. one night everything was great. I turned it off and when I turned it on the next morning all I have is small black and white squares ( rectangles actually ) on my screen.  I still have sound but absolutely no graphics so I cannot see the menu to change inputs or anything.  From memory I changed the input to my X-Box and still had sound but still no picture just these small black and white rectangles. There are hundreds maybe over a thousand tiny black and white rectangles.  ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

Re: 62' Mitsubishi WD-62525 little black and white...

Mitsubishi list this problem and has a solution of replacing several small surface mounted caps and diodes. we have tried this repair 5 times and only successfully done it once. so replacing what is called the formatter board part # 930B924002 for around $ 350.00 usually repairs this type of failure, However changing this board is a time consuming thing and takes a lot of Patience. It is buried deep in the set and several other board have to be removed just to get to it

I had the same problem and I found that it was 2 caps on the power supply board. I had both caps replaced and it worked perfect. While it is apart see if any other caps are bad( if they are puffed up in the center they are bad).

you need to replace the lamp, and after you put it on game mode, go in and adjust the pick settings see if that helps

Tv brightness

I just bought an e 62525 on craigslist for $300 dollars. The guy had it in his garage because of a degraded picture... white out haze and virtually no black ... I surfed for similar issues most referring to the light engine. However; going back to basics. I removed the front panel assembly (approximately 16 screws including the center panel surrounding the card/rca ports in the front). The main mirror was spotless (in itself missleading) but the projection lense and the smaller mirror were frosted over with 3+ years of fine dust. I cleaned them with a simple cloth. I also noted that the foam insert surrounding the lense had gaps due to age which allowed excessive light sepage (the white out problem). I repositioned the foam as best I could. Then simply stuffed a black cloth over the foam but firmly arround the lense (keeping the foam intact as well). This blocked "all" light sepage. Bottom line is that I now have a picture quality that is flat out incredible! This is one bad mutha (shut yo mouth) tv. P.S. I'm just an average guy with an electric screw driver.

Mitsubishi Projection TV WD-62525

Could be quite a few things wrong. first I would do self test diagnosis and see what error you get, then check that area. It could be a bad Ballast or it could be Fuse F9a09 and the Light Engine. It also could be Caps C9a37 and C9a38. For additional info
