I suggest you contact Aiwa themselves. Some makers have free downloads of PDF files of them. But if they don't they should be able to send you a copy, perhaps for a small fee.

Aiwa AD-1250 When a cassette tape is inserted the spools do not turn; there is a whirring noise when ''forward'' button is pressed. Is it possible for me to repair this fault by opening up the machine ?

You need to replace the belts from the motor. From memory I think there are two. You will probably find that all the rubber parts need to be replaced, including the pinch roller.

Can you still get the px-e860 turntable? The one I have won't make any sound thru the speakers

Judging by my own experiences with hifi gear on eBay there is little on the face of the planet that ever really becomes UNavailable.

Wouldn't an attempt to resolve the issue work, too?

Describe your setup (preamp, amp, whatever) and if it has ever or never worked.

This unit can work through its own preamp with any audio equipment or with old-school gear already having an internal Phono Preamp. There's a switch to select which one.

Aiwa cassette deck won't eject

I had this problem on an AD-S40. Turned out to be the drive belts, which had stretched, resulting in the fact that the motors couldn't drive the mechanism through it's various load cycles of opening/closing the captain roller, etc. as required to operate the mechanism. Stuck in mid-cycle, the doors would not open.

After removing the case cover, you can turn the belt driven wheels by hand to complete the cycle, so that you can eject. Then get new belts (several outfits sell belts based on length, on line). You don't need to do much to replace the belts -- after unlocking and getting the tape out, it was only a couple of screws to remove the mechanism, as a unit, and there is no need to fuse with the circuit boards and such. Easier than I expected.
